What would you like to see changed, for the better in this little town of ours? This means paved roads, places to shop, new places to eat, or anything else you would like to see happen. I hear so much talk from others about the problems lets put it out there and see. No sarcasm please :)

Id like to see a third lane added to rt. 20 all the way through town. Traffic is so horrible especially during the school year. The population is getting bigger and bigger but nothing is being done to help the flow of traffic.

I completely agree. Maybe if there were more to do there wouldnt be so many kids using drugs and alcohol.

I would like to see the stop light at Lowes removed or changed to a caution light. I'm tired of having to stop at a red light on my way into or out of town when there isn't a single vehicle pulling onto Route 20. And wise one, I too would like to have city water where I live, I live barely 2 miles from the Hodgesville school and the Hodgesville PSD has city water going through Barbour and Harrison counties to the Johnstown road on Route 20 and yet it is not available to people virtually in Hodgesville! How can the water board members even try to justify that?

Would like to see the old armory turned into a YMCA. Something that would be good for all ages.

I have city water within a mile of my house. We have been told 1-5 years and we would have it, that was about 16 years ago. Several years back the funding was available and the PSD workers embezzled it.

Hmm,, that really doesn't surprise me considering they usually get state grants to help fund those projects. It's about a 1/4 mile from me but it stops on the other side of the RR tracks. Which PSD is near you?

I think what they mean is "real jobs". I've worked these low paying jobs befor and they are insufficient to make a decent living.

More jobs, less welfare, more places to shop, less baby momma-drama on topix, a nice club (not just another redneck bar).

I don't know how you would submit the YMCA idea to the city. If anyone out there has any idea please post it and maybe we can get something going.

Actually, thanks to Google, you can email the city of Buckhannon. I sent an email to [email protected] Maybe if more people suggest a YMCA, it could be a possibility..worth a try.
