Kinda have mixed emotions about it. Yes it would help with missing children but at the same time I can't help but wonder if it's goin to hurt the child and what about allergic reactions

I don't have today's paper so I don't know what you are talking about. Do you mean RFID chips and do you mean physically implanted in the student's body or just embedded in an id badge or something?

1. I can't imagine many parents would okay a procedure like that, regardless of how non-evasive it might be.

2. RFIDs can be cracked, to the right person, it wouldn't be that hard. They could scan and duplicate your child's chip. Then what happens?

3. I would question what OTHER data the chip could monitor and record.

Call me paranoid, but no thanks, Big Brother.

There is no way that I would allow any chip to be implanted in my child. If it's the same RFID chip I've heard of a person can be traced.I don't trust anything like that. The government is probably behind this, but of course they will cover up the fact.I've heard for years that something like this was going to happen.I was always kind of skeptical.I said absolutely not then and I'm saying absolutely not now. Thanks for putting this info out there.I will check today's paper.

People who don't understand technology make me sick some times...

An RFID chip can't be "tracked" any more than your wireless car keys can be tracked. Short-distance technology is just that....

Shouldn't you be more worried about your cell phone that you gave your kid and them tracking that?

Any sort of "chip" is just an ID like a license's RFID (yeah, some of them have those). So, unless your kid is trying to hoodwink someone with a fake id...

I think you need to re-read the paper it is not an implant it is a finger scan.

Oh, biometrics. That makes more sense in terms of cost, approval, etc..

Fingerprint scanners. I was wondering how on earth this county could afford to use RFID chips.

Still, not something I think I would go for, just to err on the side of caution: http://www.leavethemkidsalone.com/facts.htm#f...
