Hmmmmm, there goes someone shooting out facts that are wrong! Dial a phone once in a while before you start spitting your "truth"! Hot Stuff Cool Things in Buckhannon only sells the incense...not the bath salts...they may have at one time but they do not anymore! I am sure the owners don't need you to tell them what either one of the products are. It is no one's business if a grown adult buys this stuff and uses it in their home. You guys need to get educated and not just listen to what the government tells you.
Your kids could die from taking too many aspirins but how many people buy them. Your kids could die riding in a vehicle...why don't we ban them as well. Hot Stuff Cool Things is not the joke...its citizens that try to control everyone else and can't control their own kids and thats why they are determined to have everything banned....so someone else is watching out for their kids and they don't have too!
I will state again, Hot Stuff and Cool Things is a JOKE, the may not sell them now but they did. Maybe it is because they have a pending civil case against them for nearly costing someone their life with bath salts

I feel any person in support of the selling of synthetic weed or bath salt must be a user. Hot Stuff and Cool Things does or did sell them. Brushy Fort Mart also sells them. I agree with the statement of educating your children but these fools selling these items should be "shot".
i don't think we should actually be stating someone should be shot. i agree with most of the postings on here. educate our children about the use of life threatening drugs.

Yeah, taking it as far as saying someone should be shot is a little too far but I understand how frustrated people are about something this bad being out there and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Alot of people have mentioned educating our kids and I think that's not only about all we can do but the best thing we can do. We can't feel responsible for other people's kids and we can't take it all on ourselves to irradicate the world of the drug problem. The one thing we can do is, through our own children, instill the values and things that they will need to take their own stand against it.

this started out as a way to protect our children from life threatening drugs. #1 we should not be telling our children i would rather you use the real things like smoke pot. #2 if you really want to educate your children tell them not to use any drugs. #3 it all starts in the home as parents be involved in your child/teenagers life. educate against all drugs and alcohol. your kids may not like the topics and may not be your best friend. but we are here to protect them the best way we can.

Exactly! I totally agree! As a parent we need to be involved ACTIVELY in our child's lives! They may not like to hear all that we have to say but at least we are doing the best we can to protect them and arm them to face this terrible world we're raising them in. I appreciate this subject being brought us as I haven't heard much about these bath salts. I have done some research after reading this and I am TOTALLY amazed! What an aweful thing!

I am an addict and I have used the bath salts. And unless I am desprite for a fix I will never do so again. They are ten times worse than the real thing. I am not encouraging anyone to try them. I am saying in my experience with it was really bad. I was feening an had to have something an used that as a last resort. I thought my heart was going to explode and could not breathe. I have a problem and exknowledge it. Parents should be informed about these new drugs. Companys that sell them are in it for the profit. They can buy the inscence for 400.00 for 50 and sell it for 20.00 that is a 600.00 profit. And Yes Cooks, Brushy Fork, Mountaineer Mart on 33(also a exxon) do sell the stuff. The fast stop exxon in town never has. Neither has 711, Sheetz, Gomart, Speedway, General Store, I know I have called them all...

Apparently you have never been addicted to something. I wish it were easy to just not think about it. When I close my eyes I can see it. When I watch certain movies that have drugs in them I start feening. Do you know what that is like and not being able to control it. Every person is different. Maybe you should pick up a book or do some research before you start saying what I go thru is Stupid. I don't use everyday. In fact I went a year before I touched the stuff. Sometimes the urge wins. I think it is wonderful that the OP put this out there and I will not turn this into a meeting. Have a great night.

I would like to say thank you. I commend you for coming on this forum and sharing this information. You didn't have to do it, but you did and I think that's great. You know first hand what a drug addiction is like and apparently care enough about others that you would share a terrible experience in order to prevent someone else from making a very bad choice. What a wonderful thing for you to do. I don't think you are stupid by no means. I hope if you haven't already, that you would seek help to over come your addition. I wish you the best.

Listen up Children, the object of my posting this in the first place to inform everyone that Bath Salts was in our town so everyone would talk to their children about them. I have four grandsons and one granddaughter and I do not what to be called to the emergency room or the morgue in the middle of the night because they were not educated about Bath Salts. Nor do I want any other parent or grandparent to go through that.

I did not want this to be about the stores who do or do not sell this, if you go into a store that sells it, you either shop there or not that is your decision. I for one will not buy anything in a store that sells it.

And to the brave soul that admitted she was an addict and had used Bath Salts, thank you and I love you for your courage in doing so. So very few of us are willing to admit we have every been addicted to anything be it marijuana, cocaine, meth, even alcohol or cigarettes. I have been there and done that, I have an addictive personality and fought had to steer clear of all of those, unfortunately cigarettes is one I can not beat.

Remember the subject is protecting the children and the ones we love from Bath Salts or any other drug that could lead to their deaths. Again this is my opinion and we know about opinions. Thanks

To the addict: Sometimes it takes someone who has been there to put it into perspective. Thank you for enlightening some of us. I pray that you get the help that you need and I am so glad that you can actually admit that you have a problem. That is the first step.
TO everyone else. Stop arguing about where it is and start researching what it does. I don't think the OP was calling for a town-wide boycott or a storming by the SWAT team, I think she was just calling attention to the problem as some people can be quite oblivious to the problems around them except for the ones they themselves encounter or stir up. I for one am going to look up some information and hopefully find the time to post it.

On the Drs the other day they said they tested bath salts and 90 percent of it was this stuff

MDPV has no history of FDA approved medical use.[4] Reportedly, it has four times the potency of methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta).[5] MDPV is the 3,4-methylenedioxy ring-substituted analog of the compound pyrovalerone, developed in the 1960s, which has been used for the treatment of chronic fatigue and as an anorectic, but caused problems of abuse and dependence.[1] However, despite its structural similarity, the effects of MDPV bear little resemblance to other methylenedioxyphenylalkylamine derivatives such as 3,4-methylenedioxy-N-methylamp hetamine (MDMA), instead producing primarily stimulant effects with only mild entactogenic qualities.[1]

Other drugs with a similar chemical structure include α-pyrrolidinopropioph enone (α-PPP), 4'-methyl-α-pyrrolidi nopropiophenone (MPPP) and 3',4'-methylenedioxy-&#945 ;-pyrrolidinopropiophenone (MDPPP).

just a lil info off the web theres plenty more out there

Not sure what day it was, but one day last week, CNN reported that the bath salts are now illegal to sell and were to be pulled from store shelves that day. Although, and this is rather interesting, the ban is only for one year while they run tests to see exactly what the side effects are. I personally know of two people who have ended up in the ER after trying bath salts, so I think all the research that would need to be done is talk to hospital/ER personnel. Hopefully, they will never make it back to the public, although I'm certain a black market will continue.

BEST TOPIC, I'VE SEEN.. NOT ONE PERSON WANTS TO SEE A CHILDS NAME IN THE PAPER AS A STATISTIC TO THIS DRUG, OR ANYONE FOR THAT MATTER.. THE STORES CAN'T BE BLAMED IF THEY WEREN'T EDUCATED ABOUT WHAT THIS REALLY IS, THE COMPANY NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR PUTTING THIS OUT THERE.. I HOPE IT WON'T GET INTO THE HANDS OF SOMEONE I KNOW

If so, you'll probably kill yourself soon, as that is one of the side effects ... that's real funny, too, isn't it?
