I can't be the only one in this town that thinks this football program is in need of change. At what point is something done about this downward spiral? As if last year wasn't pathetic enough, this season has started off exactly the same way. Same coaches playing the same players the entire game until they are tired as hell and give it away. And the boys that don't play don't even get playtime when there is no chance in hell in winning. Would it kill you to give those boys a play or two when they r out there busting their asses at practice like everyone else. Then the coaches cancel even more games for the JV team, which hasn't even played their first game. How much can they expect to shit on these boys and expect results? Sorry if this offends someone but this football program sucks and i just wonder what it takes or who you have to know to make some changes!

The only thing this year is that we are losing more gracefully ! We play mostly small schools that we should win ! We have played two really good schools but couldn't win even when they "handed the ball to us"! I hope your son sees more action !

I completely agree. My son doesn't even play for Varsity but I sympathize with all those boys that sit there while the same kids play the whole game and beat themselves in the second half like always. Is it that hard to rotate fresh players in and out or at the very least when they are down by 3 touchdowns with seconds to go, give some of the other boys a play! My son plays JV which is another tragedy in itself. They announced yesterday that they cut 2 more games from their schedule, down from 8 games to 5 games and now 3 games. They haven't even had their first game yet and their season will be over in 3 games? The boys are quitting left and right and my son will be joining them. Normally I wouldn't let him quit anything he's committed to but in this case I'm in support of his decision. The boys are quitting because the coaches quit on them!

Coaching 101. Alternate players. Play the same 11-15 players till their performance is less than par because they can't breath. Good players, yes. Wore out by the 2nd half, Yes. This team is the laughing stock of the division. What a waste. Its always the same, every game, they do well in the beginning and give it up in the 2nd half. Meanwhile the opponents are switching out fresh players and gaining momentum.

And for the Luke stout person, do you honestly think your comments and ignorent way of thinking is going to gain you any traction. If you and the rest of your croonies would take a higher road approach, you would get more support.

Completely agree. Shitting on the boys they are going to need in the next year or two. I wouldn't be surprised if they cant field a team in the future. Pretty sad when the school is full of healthy boys that would be nothing but an asset to the team, but don't play because of lack of "team" in the football program. Its definately time for a change.

If they would worry more about playing kids who can actually play, instead of who's parents have more money & can donate more... the only reason they play the Pearson kid & Smith Kid so much is b/c their parents have the money in the bank... THEY NEED 2 LOOK AROUND & REALIZE THOSE KIDS R MAKING THE TEAM WIN & THE PEARSON KIDS HAS MAJOR ANGER PROBLEMS!
Why do u say anger problems?

Shows what you know. There is no Pearson kid on the high school team. Know the facts before you run your mouth.

Am I the only one that thinks naming names of kids on a board like this is wrong? If the kids have poor leadership, then the team is gonna be bad. Just like the band and their dwindling numbers. That's because of poor leadership. Maybe its time for the high school to clean house. If the kids had leadership they respected they would try harder.

Exactly my point, at what point will the school step up and make a change. I don't entirely agree that the kids need to try harder. The select few that get the opportunity to play usually play hard until they are so worn out they have nothing left, and most of the ones not playing aren't doing so because they aren't out there practicing hard like the rest of them. They do need someone they can trust and respect and that supports and respects ALL of them by making smart and fair decisions. Yet the school turns a blind eye and renews contracts with the same "leaders" of the past that keep dragging everyone down!

Your not the only one in this town. The buhs football program was once revered as one of the best. It seem as though the decision makers are wearing blinders. The football team has piss poor leadership and the football team has no team. I vote for change.

Topixs I'm almost sure isn't the place for this conversation. Especially being this is a high school team meaning these are children on this team! I know there are few mature adults in this town but seriously? If you feel there are issues in the way things are being handled then go through the proper means to let your opinion be known. And no I do not have a player on this team but I as an adult know that bashing will not stop on these kids just because you felt the need to run your mouth on a public site about the coaching staff. If you're upset because your child is setting on the sidelines, have you asked why? And if you're child is a freshman or junior varsity and you are crying they aren't getting play time on the VARSITY team, then reread my emphasis on the capital word. Would you give a crap if your child was being played and others weren't? I highly doubt it but my point being they are a team of CHILDREN just like yours so walk through proper steps to do your complaining. Teaching your children the right way to handle things and then if you don't get the answer you want to hear, football is played in tons of other schools. You need to realize whom you are truly upsetting by posting on this website. Unfortunately this whole sad town is aware of this site and it will return to the CHILDREN! To the WHOLE team I hope it works out for ALL of you, keep your heads high, keep fighting hard and bring those WINS back to our scoreboard! Go BOYS!!!!

I think there has been too much talk about Luke missing. Do your protests and do your posts but don't bad mouth other people who want to talk about other things.

First of all, you have your opinion and clearly many of us have our own and we are entitled to discuss them if we feel the right to do so. High school football is a public sport in our community so not sure why you feel topix isn't the "proper" place to discuss an obvious public issue with the program. Nobody is bashing these kids so not sure why you feel they should be offended in some way. I think it's clear that the issue is with the coaching/school and not the kids. Your wrong if you think people haven't said anything before now or tried to make a change. This is precisely my point and reason for venting, the school ignores it and have turned a blind eye to the program and these kids. And as for your comment regarding the kids not playing and asking ourselves why, that comment alone is certainly offending to those kids your so worried about possibly reading your post. Also, I did not see where anyone was complaining about their freshman or jv kid not playing varsity games. The point you clearly missed is that the JV team hasn't even played their first game, and they continue to cut their season before it even starts. How is it fair to that team to put in the same time and effort as the other teams, not get the opportunity to even prove themselves and their season is cut to 3 games total this year? Would I care if my kid was playing while the others weren't, your damn right I would. I know what TEAM is and it's about being fair and doing it together so before you make assumptions that this is all about one kid, your the one who is wrong. Sounds to me like the coaches must have at least one fan in you.

don't think that the bleachers aren't buzzing with dissatisfaction. I don't think we need minimum plays or every kid should play, but when you have no alternates and the starting line up is gassed out, it only makes since to alternate fresh kids in. And if your down 4 touch downs with 2 minutes to go and your "starters" look like beat down work mules, than it only makes since to put in the fresh kids and give em a chance.......On the flip side, not playing the starting qb because he was making noise in practice???? Run his guts out in practice. Not bench him until the 4th qtr. Its easy to be a bleacher coach, but when the same thing happens week after week, season after season, Something has to change. Also note that the the only two games that weren't looses last year were not coached by the head coach.........
