Meeting to consider rezoning 195th Avenue and Patton Road,

A Neighborhood Meeting is scheduled to take place Tuesday January 22nd, at the Hampton Inn 14783 W. Grand Avenue in Surprise, AZ at 6:00 PM. The City of Surprise will be considering changing the zone requirements at 195th Ave and Patton Road from residential to commercial.

That was what I had heard through the grape vine, however was not able to absolutely confirm it. When I received the information, the company was only conducting a survey. Others were concerned it would be an extension to the rail yard expected to go in near Nadaberg Elementary. So going on those two tips, I wanted to wait it out until I see permits being chalked up for construction. As I understand that area is in Surprise City limits now.

It's my understanding the purposed area for rezoning is too small to be of much concern to the railroad.

Also from what I've learned from an casual conversation with a few of the Surprise City counsel members, it's almost certain to be a quick trip, although there are no guarantee's lets hope so, we definitely need one between Wittmann, and Surprise.

Check this page out, scroll down a little bit and you can see what's up on 195th and Patton and also on 193th and Grand! Walgeen's on 193th in front of the mci building and next to that is a storage building and then the Car wash and gas station with c-store on 195th and grand & Patton. I guess this is what's up with Surprise, who know thing change all the time.

This link shows interesting information and plans for the area around Patton and Grand. The plans could bring a QT or similar gas & snack along with a strip mall of sorts, but the types of business within the complex are not clearly stated. The fact that gas would be available somewhere between Surprise and Wickenburg might sway some newer and older residents to reconsider the Village Proposals. This is something that everyone needs to watch very carefully. It could be a sheep in wolf's clothing or it could be the shining Texaco Star.
