My husband was a Roanoke County officer, and it is sooooo scary to know that a hometown officer was permantly damaged by one of the criminals he was trying to save the rest of community from. So many people truly underestimate the daily dangers police officers face. It was scarier for me to be an officers wife than a soldiers wife. Routine calls can become deadly, or leave an officer, and his family, scarred permantly. It saddens me that there are so many people who hold negative feelings toward the "po-po." But I guess when you do wrong you harbor resentment toward the ones who try to correct you, or keep you from being a problem for other people.
