Everybody in this town knows the sheriffs department is corrupt, and make their own laws. But until somebody decides to take Monte down, nothing is gonna change. It's a shame they missed their chance with the drug task force fiasco!

This entire thread reeks of ignorance. conspiracy theories of corrupt local government always blow my mind. small town politics will never be anything other than just that. If you ain't got em and you're on an Internet forum bitching then you are just a regular small town hater! If I knew someone and could get out of a ticket you'd better believe that I would do it!

Not a small town hater, my family has been in this community for over 40 years and came over from Weakly county. I'm a season ticket holder to the Patriots football team and see Sheriff officers drive their families to the games. They drive them through the back gate and get in for free. I don't agree with this practice for reasons already stated, If they have an accident, are we as county residents stuck paying the medical bills of family members that shouldn't be in the cars to begin with?
I understand an officer driving the car to the game if he's working, but to bring his family and get them in for free when he or she is being paid to work the game, isn't right and slaps the face of those citizens that pay to sit and root for our football team.
I don't like how this discussion disintegrated into name calling and chest thumping.

Unfortunately you can not have an intelligent conversation on a Internet forum. The ones you complain about know how to derail these. They post multiple trash talk until people stop reading. If that doesn't bury it then they have the whole thread removed. Been there done that have the t-shirt,. But you risk social financial suicide if you complain discuss in public. You are either a big fish in this small pond or you are a minnow. However, your vote is supposed to speak. If you think it then vote it. Yes there are not much to vote for however if you feel strongly then don't just punch a name because it is only one, write someone in, it's better than saying oh well. Goodluck

Votes don't seem to count in this Town. I must have voted the wrong way in the last Elections, because they kicked me off the voting system.

I could honestly care no less either way. It does seem to me like you are being a tad weak over this though. Kinda like being upset cause someone makes more money than you at your work. Worry about you and your own and not so much about how others pay to watch a football game or how they drive to and fro. You know as well as I do that if one of them did have a wreck they'd be fired for having family in the car with them and the taxpayers wouldn't notice a dent. I bet you were a tattle tale as a kid!

You guys so worried about liability, same liability issue as if a police car has an accident with another vehicle. You simply.want to run them in the ground. How about some logic, I live in Whitlock, I am headed to work at 8 (sheriffs dept) my child has to be dropped off at day care at country lane, it is not logicAl to go to daycare back to Whitlock and then back to Paris, and you would not either, you are someone who dislikes cops or the sheriff personally because if you were driving a squad car, you would allow your child to ride in it.
