If you think about it, the five star is at a good location for the midnight crew to sit for a while. With gas as high as it is now, it would be crazy to run traffic for more than a couple hours per shift. Sitting at a location right at the intersection of two busy roads is not a bad idea.
But, it is par for the course. Police officers will get criticized for whatever they decide to do. It is just the nature of the beast. The good thing about cops is that they do the job because they care ( it is for sure not the money ) so, they will still show up when you call. How stupid are people to criticize the ones that are willing to show up whenever and where ever there is danger? Maybe next time there is a robbery or a burglar, you want to be the one that goes an puts your life on the line for someone else... Yeah, I didn't think so, arm-chair cowboys.

I am glad the police officers have nothing to do in Murray that means that there is not that much crime being committed and we live in a safe community. I never understood why people always wanted thier officers to be busy, that means you have crime and high crime at that, or they are out writing tickets to those people who will bitch about it tommorrow saying " don' officers have anything better to do", it also means that they are not wasting tax payers money but wasting gas by driving around so people dont see them sitting around. Just a thought.

Wasting gas? They may not drive around doing it but instead they are hanging out at the stores,Walmart, etc while leaving the car running wasting gas saying well we dont have to pay for it, but WE DO.....the tax payers. Just a thought.

They don't leave the cars running unless they are either running in for a specific reason and will be right back, they are on official business or they are K9 handlers and leave the car running so the dog doesn't suffocate.

Any job is going to have its good employees and will often have its bad employees. Some places have just downright bad apples. I seriously doubt the WHOLE department parks their cars while running and gets out and says, I'm leaving it, cause I don't pay for it. Sounds like you have run into a bad apple, or at least have some type of grudge for some reason. Arrested maybe?

I had to read this a couple of times to understand what was being said here. Doesn't really flow, but I think you are claiming that you have heard them say that they do not care about the fuel because they do not pay for it? Did you hear this first hand or is this some second hand hear-say?
