#1. You pay for them anyway. If "Obamacare" was repealed, they go back to being free riders, who show up at the emergency room, run up a bill, and never pay. And it gets passed on to higher insurance costs.
#2. Papa John's is lousy pizza, so who cares? Let them take it out on their customers, and go under. Someone better will pop up in their place. Good riddance.
you don;t get it..........obamacare CANNOT BE REPEALD NOW, since your lordship fooled you and others into electing him again.

just wait, hoss. you'll see......give it about 24 months.

it'll be harder for you to save for your children's education.

We will wait 24 months and see if your dire predictions come true. I believe the new system will probably have a few rough spots but will be sucessfull. If every other industrial nation in the world can provide health cate to its citizens, why can't we? Looking forward to resuming our debate in 24 months. Until then.

the average tax rate on INDIVIDUAL WAGE-EARNERS (families) in the U.S. is between 20%-30%, with privatized healthcare and insurance competing for our business.

eurpoes average tax rate is 60%!!!!!!!!!

Switzerland's is 65%

So tell me 'older'........do you want your children to pay 65cents of every dollar they earn to the governement, just so they can pay for someone else's healthcare? or 30cents?

that 'small difference' figured on a $50K yearly income is $17,500.00.

put another way is this.......the person making $50K in the U.S.@ a 30% tax bracket brings home $35,000.

The person making $50K in Eurpoe @ a 65% tax bracket brings home $17,500.

Which do you prefer?$35,000 bring home, or,$17,500.00 bring home?

We must receive our info from different sources. But the fact remains that the guy who started the Canadian Health Care system was recenty voted the 'Greatest Canadian Ever'. Google Tommy Douglas, Canada. Another interesting fact is he happens to be Keifer Sutherlands grandfather.

But the tax credit or offset is accounted for annually. The COST is a weekly expense all year. So yeah, when you are trying to meet payroll, you will cut hours to compensate for the INCREASED cost.
i don't know who you are,'observation deck', but it's quite evident you are a businessperson.

good comment; astute, correct and absolutely true.

it's obvious others who may disagree with you have never owned or run their own business (by that, i mean being held accountable for profit-and-loss).

well, denny's (yes the chain) has seen the upheaval obamacare has caused and is raising prices to offset the obamacare costs. look it up. fellow owning 40 of them in florida is doing just that...the balnace of frnachisees across the nation are expected to follow suit.

denny's is NOT a 'small business'.

truth hurts, doesn't itriler?(and others who follow obummer the pied-piper like lemmings going over the cliff).

so when you pay more at denny's, papa john's and moast EVERY BUSINESS IN AMERICA after 1/1/2014, UNDERSTAND THEY ARE NOT MAKING MORE PROFITS!!!!!!..they are simply offsetting COSTS assigned to them that they had no control over.

good observation, "mom of 3'.......and it's not going to be just restaurants.........look for "tax costs for oabamacare" passed along in higher prices on just about everything bought and sold in America...cars, houses, household furniture, manufacturing, didtributions, retail (apparel, furniture, etc.)....people who voted in obama locked themselves into a perpetual nightmare of costs they CANNOT overturn...about the end of 2015, when they start looking at their W-2's, preparing taxes and decustions, etc., etc., etc., they're gonna say "wwhhhaaaaaaa....did i do....yikes!!!!!"

older, older, older......that suit is 2 years in the making (BEFORE obama's obamacare passed congress and his election to second term), involves 3 people, and worst of all, is about a text they received on thier phones about 'free pizza'.........NONE OF WHICH has anything to do with thier price increase. c'mon, you can do better than that,'older'. quit trying to support your messiah obama by deceiving folks on this board.

additionally, the culpability lies with an advertising and marketing compnay hired by papa john's.

remionds me of the lady who sued mcdonald's some years ago becuase the coffe SHE SPILLED in her lap while driving was too hot?!?!?!?!?!

regarding the papa john's suit.........can you say, FRIVOLOUS?

Never said the lawsuit was due to Obamacare. Obamacare as it deals with businesses will not kick in till 2014 so why the firings and price increase threats now. These people are grandstanding politically. I'm willing to give it a chance. Romneycare appears to be working, people are pleased with it in MA. The Tea Party couldn't get enough signatures on a petition to begin a repeal process.

WE individual taxpayers will see FULL implementation and tax hikes on OUR asests, purchases, etc. FULLY, beginning 1/1/2014....it starts in a few weeks!

many 'european' countries have 'universal' healthcare, as does canada....go ask a canadian what THYEY think about their healthcare.
while you were seen in an er visit, chances are under universal healthcare you WOULD NOT have been seen, or at least right away.
and the doctor they sent you to "THREE DAYS LATER"?........under universal healthcare you woulda been lucky to see that doctor in 3 months!
wake up folks......"free" healthcare IS NOT FREE!
Actually completely false. In Canada you see the doctor for most things on a schedule like you do in America. You call, you make an appointment for the family doctor and you go, often within the month. You get hurt you go to the ER and get treated the same day. In fact the last time I made an appointment to see a doctor here in the US, I had to wait for 6 weeks. The last time I went to the ER (about 7 years ago) I waited for 3 hours to be seen. My good friend in Canada when hearing this was shocked, as he can make an appointment to be seen by his doctor in 3 weeks or less, and his local ER rarely takes more than an hour to be seen. The reality check here is it is completely based on where you live, the population and number of doctors per patient. I have many friends in Canada, England, German, Poland, and Italy, not one of them has every complained about their universal healthcare, most of them in fact asked me why we put up with our current system of healthcare.

@ jrm...the argument is the COST of healthcare to wage-earning individuals (and profit-earning busnesses) in this country.......i have friends also in canada, germany, and sweden (one in russia)...they PAY OUT THE NOSE for their healthcare IN THE FORM OF TAXES......in short, they work the same hours as we do, BUT BRING HOME LESS of their hard-earned dollars in order to pay for 'others' healthcare.

the major, fundamental, question and reality WAS this (notice i make it past tense).......are you willing to donate more of YOUR MONEY to pay for someomne else's healthcare?

before the election of obama for a 2nd term, you had a choice.....NOW YOU DO NOT. MORE OF YOUR MONEY WILL BE TAKEN FROM YOU in the form of higher taxes on goods and services that you pay for to fund obamacare AND YOU NO LONGER HAVE A CHOICE ABOUT IT. in 24 months you and your family will be paying more than $2,000.00 more dollars in taxes EACH YEAR than you do today........AND THAT IS FOR PEOPLE EARNING LESS THAN $250K per year....the 'rich' get soaked even more (and businesses).

ummm. If people don't have benefits and fall under the poverty line they and their children will receive medicaid provided by the state & subsidized by federal tax dollars. If someone has no insurance and uses the emergency room as many do the federal government sends them a big check every year which they must distribute to bad debt accounts. In addition to that there used to be a form that you filled out at admission that stated if you were above or below a certain income level. It allowed for lower middle class people who did not qualify for medicaid nor have benefits provided by work to have their debt paid by the federal funds as well.

If you don't realize that you are ALREADY paying for everyone's health care you are deluded.

good, maybe even more people will wake up and stop eating that steroid injected crap from those bible-thumpin, homophobic douche bags. Like Willard himself, these whiny republiKKKans are just showing what sore losers they are. What kind of mature business person says "My side lost, so I'm gonna show everybody!
