I also believe that Sheriff Cochran is the best we have had in a long time. That is why a certain few are so afraid of him. He stands for what is right, straight across the board. No favoritisim. No matter what a certain few try to slander and lie about, it does not change the facts. How sad to be so embittered with your life, that the only way to make yourself feel good is to try to bring someone else down to your level. From all I have seen on this website is this fact: Embittered, scared, people try to lie and bring down, people who are very secure in their lives and want all people to be treated equal speak the truth. So cowardly and saddned I sure am glad you are not our sheriff. May your lives change so you are not so bitter.

So what you are saying is that we all need to make up lies about one another and start typing away letting everyone know whos name we are trying to run down for no good reason besides being scared or because we are not confident about ourselves.

I don't understand how you KNOW that these are lies. It is your opinion and that is fine but I know what I have seen, I know what he has said to me, and I know about the records he is trying to hide. These are not lies, the truth will set you free, Mr. Cochran.

First of all, smallwood was an escapee, not an inmate. Second, I do have my own opinion, I will stick to it. You say that you have facts but it seems that they are just an opinion also, yours, and what looks like, only yours.

Sheriff Cochran has done what he said he would do. Cracking down on crime and drugs... now if you have a problem with that there is porbably a reason, like you might be caught!! and beating up a hand cuffed man,, get real!! they guy has to spend some of his own money to feed everyone properly, i have seen that!! so mistreating people is not his game.. I know you are used to that in the old administration, not fairness, but don't accuse the man because even if you didn't vote for him, or even bab-mouth him, when you call he would not hesitate, like has been done in the past admin. he does play fair and the rest don't...

justic, you need to learn to spell first of all and has anyone asked cochran point blank if he hit a handcuffed man? i bet if he were an honest man he would admit hitting the inmate not only once but several times and stood by while other law enforcement got their licks in and used their tasers very freely.

If you arent bothered that he carries a pistol but didnt need anybody to tell him when (or when not) to use it (refused any and all law enforcement training) does the thought of him screaming around a curve in a car and killing your kid (because he didnt need any driver training either) wake your dumb ass up about him?

Translation: Sheriff Cochran isn't bothering those people we don't like and if we had Sheriffs like we did in the old days it would be much better. Now did translate what you said correctly ??????????

It's hard to fathom your double negative but if you are asking if I think the Sheriff is targeting the wrong people I really just have one criteria on who should be investigated, arrested and prosecuted and that is those who break the law. I have no favorites among criminals. As far as the old days we've had some some relatively well trained sheriffs, some of whom supported and at least one who pretty much ignored the Constitution (but he did arrest a lot of folks). We've had good sheriffs in the past who had no official training. So, the answer to your question is no, you are not even close.
What I was trying to get across is that it's really not important if the Sheriff knows criminal procedure, constitutional law or much anything else. That stuff rarely gets someone killed.
But the proven dangers of the untrained inept or careless employment of firearms and the threat of untrained high speed driving are apparently lost on him. Depending on his judgement, since we can't call him properly trained, and conduct, he could himself "be armed to the terror of the public" and just because his car is well maintained dosen't mean he's any safer than some punk kid he's chasing down because he is no better trained.
Ignorance IS bliss, but only where wisdom is found to be folly.
