drug use in bryson

can anyone fill me in on the drug problem that exist in bryson city. It is my understanding that drug use is ransent in this quiet little town

Drugs are not rampant here. There are some problems with Meth as there are everywhere. Some kids smoke a little dope. I don't think drugs are any more an issue than any other small town with virtually nothing for kids to do. As a rule, most kids here are good, well-behaved, and respectful.

We desperately do need some things for kids to do. A bowling alley, a theater, a coffee shop that stayed open after 5:00. I wish someone with money would step up.

Drugs and their use and abuse are a nation wide problem, even in cities with gobs to do, kids will choose to try the dangerous and risky behavior. It is up to parents to guide by example and for young people to support each other in making healty life style choices. If we make statements that there is a little harmless drug use, say with pot, we are by the nature of such remarks giving tacit permission for gateway use which can have a snowball result.

Drug use is very common place in Bryson City. My husband and myself told the city and county police where they were cooking it, selling it, and who was involved....about the lab located next to the gas station...hello! The names of children in the community who were using.
I reported that just the night before there was a 14yr old girl being injected with meth by a 35yr old man. She had slept with him to get the drugs.
As I sat at my kitchen table across from one of Bryson's finest, I was told "If they aren't hurting themself or anyone else there is really nothing we can do about it." That there hadn't been any complaints. I said "I AM COMPLAINING! DO SOMETHING" Still....nothing was ever done.
DSS does little to nothing to monitor such people once their children are involved. It is common place for children of such users to be given back to the parents without even fullfilling the requirements DSS sets. After a year of "monitoring" the children will be given back to the parents even if they refuse the drug tests or test possitive for current drug use.
Every local cop knows where it is, and who the players are. How could they not.......everybody else in town does!

If you think there is no problem with drugs in Bryson City come to the courthouse on Thursdays and check it out its full of people.
And for the saying that kids dont have anything to do here I dont believe this is the problem I think that its that parents dont have anything to do with the kids thats the problem.

Bryson City DOES have a drug problem. And nobody is reporting where the drugs are coming from. If you know something report it otherwise it only gets worse. Call the PD or Sheriff Office from a payphone, report to crimestoppers, or use an anonymous website (www.sneeksnitch.com , wetip.com ).
