It was a conservative US supreme justice appointed by Bush that that gave the power to the IRS to control Obama care when he ruled it as a tax..

He said that the people haft to take responsibility for who they elect.. But that wasn't the case when the US supreme court stopped the vote count in Florida and gave the election to Bush...

Chief Justice John Roberts wants it both ways and it looks to me like he got it..

Dolander, nice to see you fully understand history and how the Supreme Court works.

I will say this much for Obama, he picked the correct agency to enforce ObamaCare. The IRS knows how to “”convince”” people to pay and even over pay their taxes during the course of the year. So dolander have you read the ObamaCare Law as of yet, can you with certainty debate all aspects of the law. I sincerely hope not my friend, as that would mean you have no life.

Im not try to debate Obama care.. What Im saying here is that if it wasnt for hypocrite Justice John Roberts, there would be no Obama care..

Keep in mind that Justice John Roberts had the power to pass this law because he was appointed to the US supreme court by Bush, that was elected by the US supreme court by stopping the vote count in Florida.. And yet he blames this law on the voters.. Also keep in mind that Roberts referred to the voters as "people" and Bush lost the popular vote...

Do you see the hypocrisy yet?

And yes I do have a life, my friend.. My dog my guitar my beer and my frying pan....

Didn't you use to make something called beer chicken?... I have something for you to try.. Johnsonville beef brats.. soak them in beer over night and then the next day fry them with diced up onion.. yummmmmie!!!!

Sounds good I will have to try that one day this summer.

Two things dolander, first of all the Supreme Court did not stop the counting of votes in Florida. The Supreme Court told the Florida Supreme court that it was not legal to allow the rules for vote counting to be changed on the fly. It would be like the JSO stopping you for going 45mph, in what was 45 zone when you went through it and writing you a ticket while the DOT was behind you changing the sign to a 35mph zone. The majority of those living on the road would support this move and your ticket and based on your responses on issues in the past you would support getting the ticket.

AS for the Supreme Court allowing Obamacare, I was a 5-4 decision and so justices, Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor also allowed the law to move forward.

The court, however, found problems with the law's expansion of Medicaid, but even there said the expansion could proceed as long as the federal government does not threaten to withhold states' entire Medicaid allotment if they don't take part in the law's extension.
The court's four liberal justices, Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor, joined Roberts in the outcome. Justices Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas dissented. It would seem the majority won this round. Keep in mind dolander, the Supreme Court is only supposed to interrupt the law, not make it so thank you House and Senate for the law.

The US supreme court DID stop the vote count by over turning the Florida supreme courts decision that ruled every vote must be counted..

So much for democracy when the US supreme court rules that not every vote counts...

If it keeps democracy in check. I do..

You also need to keep in mind that is was only one man that gave Obama care to the IRS.. Roberts, who is a conservative justice did so with the tie breaking vote..

I am surprised by your Reponse here dolander, or maybe I have missed your point that you are in full support of Judge Roberts. If memory serves me correct, polls showed that the majority supported Obamacare at the time of its passing and five Justices choose to support democracy over rule of law, would you agree. Whether or not Judge Roberts has conservative leanings is not supposed to dictate how he looks at the Law by the people and for the People. The America people even passed and Amendment to the Constitution to allow government more latitude in taxing the people so again democracy over rule of law was chosen.

BTW, you statement “If it keeps democracy in check. I do” seems to imply to me that making the rules as you go keeps democracy in check is incorrect in my opinion. Changing and making the the rules as you go is “democracy”! Rule of Law is what is meant to keep democracy in check.

So dolander do you in support of democracy or does that change quicker than a democracy.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!

Not Going To Happen!!!!!!!

That would require that the Senate Republicans to grow a SET. That is any impossibility for the likes of John McCain and Lindsey Graham. It will take something far, far bigger than IRS and Benghazi, and to be honest not sure there is anything he could do, outside of personally killing someone with the cameras rolling that would start an Impeachment process. JMPO.

If it means killing people to keep democracy in check I would agree with it.. The Florida supreme court had every right do do what it takes to make sure every vote is counted to keep democracy in check.. The US supreme court had no right to trample over democracy such as they did when they stopped the vote count...

As far as Roberts is concerned.. I figure you are just playing stupid or you never will get it..

So you would support the Florida Supreme court deciding who should be Florida’s choice for President as long as they did it by the rules they created during the vote count?

BTW, dolander, every ballot that was counted that was correctly filled out or punched by a “”Responsible”” voter who actually gave a dam to make sure his or her vote meant something. Seriously, I remember those old punch card ballots and it wasn’t that difficult to make sure you punched a dam in the thing. How much “”Responsibility”” and time does it take to make sure you voted correctly.

I never said that

What I said was that the Florida Supreme court had every right to keep democracy in check by allowing the vote count to continue..

Dolander, My question was in Post # 7 was “So you approve of rules being changed and made up as you go?”
You dolander replied in Post #8 “If it keeps democracy in check. I do.”
Now since the Florida supreme court was allowing three and only three counties to make up the rules as they went and knowing the outcome of the Presidential election was to be decided and your statement in post #8 then In My Opinion you did “ say It”.
Now to your new statement that “the Florida Supreme court had every right to keep democracy in check by allowing the vote count to continue” that required the Florida Supreme court to “make law” which is not the function they have, they are to interrupt law. I am sorry but when the vote counters in Palm Beach where trying to count ballots that had no punch in it as an actual vote because the real vote count did not produce the results they wanted, Rule of Law must be adhered too otherwise democracy will fail.

I have an idea..

Being that americans cant hold credible elections.. Why dont the US hire a foreign owned company here in the US to run the elections for us? After all the US supreme court did give US constitutional rights to corporations, no matter who owns them..

Also keep in mind that it took a news agency from another country to break the story about the US government snooping into phone and internet records.. Where was CNN and Fox news at??

Get your head out of the toilet, my friend..
