And if Romney had chosen Rubio instead of Ryan...it would be President Romney...but his racist party would not allow it.

Really, Selecia? If you believe that then I have some beautiful blue ocean front property in South Dakota that I will give you. If you believe Rubio he was very clear that he would not accept the V.P. post if asked. Besides, it would have come during the campaign that Rubio drinks water and he would have been disqualified to run as the V.P., Well at least based on CNN standards.

I was watching the whole thing the other night and I could tell that he was uncomfortable about something...a simple finger up with EXCUSE ME would have been quite sufficient. As it was, did he think he could hide from 250 million people?

Are you suggesting that if I choose not to watch the State of the Union address then I must be sticking my head in the ground, thus having no idea of what is going on? Really Selecia, I mean the transcript of the speech was on the White house website and several other websites. I would prefer to read the actually speech without all the BS production crap and all the delays for clapping. I cannot believe you Selecia, think if I did not watch the speech that I must not be informed. On the contrary, I know I am far more informed than the vast majority of the low information America.

Selecia, I sincerely hope you are being sarcastic. The State of the Union has been for a long time nothing more than a glorified infomercial, and I don’t watch infomercial however, if others do then it is their time and I respect that. Un-America, Really Selecia you losing some credibility with that statement.

What you want to watch is your business.. What I want to watch is my business.. If you disagree with this, then you are UN-AMERICAN...

I think that as an American, it is our duty to listen to the President. I have not missed a speech...no matter who was delivering it.

I heard an interesting explanation on Morning Joe that actually made sense: He is used to speaking to a live audience and having lots of applause, which usually gives him a chance to get a sip of water. It was probably a bit disconcerting to speak to a camera instead of an audience.

I really hate to defend Marco, but that does make sense to me. I agree that a simple, "Excuse me," would have worked, too.

Well Selecia that is where you and I disagree, I do not see it as “My Duty” to listen to the President. I do believe it is “My Duty” as an America Citizen to be knowledgeable of what government is charged to do by we the people and to be knowledgeable of what my government is doing and plans to do. If that means instead of sitting in front of the TV or radio that I choose to read the transcript of the speech and thus be knowledgeable of the presidents plans for our country. However, if one chooses to watch the State of the Union or any other speech on TV then that is there choice, I would however argue that they are probably less knowledgeable of what the president said sense it has been proven read is one of the best ways to both comprehend and retain knowledge.

I would have far more respect for Mr. Rubio if he came out with a statement like “I needed a drink of water and if that’s a disqualification for public office then the media needs to reevaluate their standards for public office.”

I am not Rubio is a good Senator or that he would make a good President. However we hear all the time about how poor our pool of candidates are for political office and here are two of the primary reasons in my honest opinion.
BS like this, drinking water, is not worth it!
Some people just lack the desire or ability to dumb down a to the level that far too many require.
