Baton Rouge police arrested two men Wednesday in the June 1 shooting and eventual death of a 32-year-old man on Wilmot Street.

A relative found Kurt Howard, 4941 Wilmot St., in his home June 1 with a gunshot to the head, police have said.

He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead Friday, police said.

Police arrested Benjamin Morgan, 20, 4844 Pecan Grove Drive, St. Francisville, for allegedly shooting Howard during an armed robbery, said L’Jean McKneely, a police spokesman.

Morgan was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count of first-degree murder.

McKneely said Morgan and another man, Richard Anderson, 28, 1855 Boulevard De Province, went to Howard’s home to rob him of money and drugs.

Anderson was booked into Parish Prison on one count of principal to first-degree murder and possession of Schedule IV drugs.

You don't know the man you are talking about! Drugs were involved and NOT for the reason you believe...we all know what happens when drugs are involved, but in this case, it is not because Kurt was using or selling them! He was a great man with a wonderful personality. He would give you the shirt off his back. He had his whole future ahead of him and someone (whoever it was) took that from him. And the worse part is they weren't man enough to shoot him face to face. They had to shoot him execution style. May Kurt rest in peace and the person/people who did this rot in hell!

I have not seen Kurt in years, but I remember a fun loving polite young man, the Anderson boys have always been trashy punks. No doubt the marriage between their parents was the beginning of the end for Kurt.

This whole situation is just sickening to me.
It is sad no matter how you look at this situation. The fact that they were step-brothers, just makes it that much worse.
Don't ever assume you know who is doing drugs and who is not. Even those closest to you might supprise you, believe me people on drugs are very good liars.
All of those boys were in and out of trouble, but I don't agree that the Anderson boys were a begining to and end. They were all in deep appearantly, the sad part is Kurt paid with his life, and now so will the boys who took his, as well as any others that may have been involved. That's where drugs get you in life...

THANK YOU LUCKY!!!
He was my lucky (lucky 2 be here) and he always will be!!!
Kurt did give the shirt off his back many times, hence the situations he was put in. I have seen Kurt do many things in his life for others that no one would ever do except he did it from the kindness of his huge heart. I love you Kurt, and lucky is in good hands.

I know two of the Anderson brothers pretty well and went to school with them and neither of them were trash. They were both kind so don't give them all a bad name just bc one screwed up majorly. And what about the Morgan boy, he was the one who shot the poor guy in cold blood. I think we need to all focus on making sure this family gets justice!

Ben Morgan was going down a road that would lead him in jail anyway. It's sad he had to take someones life to get there. He's always been a punk and I've heard different storys of Ritchard paying him to do it but the bottom line is they both deserve jail for the rest of their lives and to rot in hell. It's sad the people he's hurt to just end up where he was gonna end up anyway.

It is upsetting to learn that she was involved in this horrendous crime. She was a lovely girl who had so much potential. This is a perfect example of how falling in with the wrong crowd can completely change the course of ones life……

I recognized his face on the news. I didn't know him though but heard from people that he ran with a bad crowd.

I went to school with Kurt my whole life. I also know the families of both guys that are now in prison. How selfish of them!!!!!!! Their families have to live with this, and Kurt's family is suffering so greatly right now. Shame on Richard and Ben both. They're exactly where they belong! There should be no mercy for people like them, for they knew what they were doing.

well all i have to say is that #1 Richard was NEVER an outstanding citizen. no matter what people say. there are MANY stories about him and his family. Ben Morgan from what i hear is not any better. Vinci is a great person but she tends to get caught up in wrong places at the wrong times. i have no clue if she knew about any of this ( and i pray she didn't) but it would not surprise me by any extent if she did. i feel sorry for the families more than anything. they are the ones who really have to live worth this for the rest of their lives. this whole situation is messed up and i hope the people who did the crime are put away!!!

I hope Lucky is being taken care of. He loved that dog with all his heart. It melts mine everytime I think of him and Lucky being stuck at the hip. That dog was Lucky he found Kurt and that is why he named him Lucky (makes me smile)
