Im a cousin of the victim and I hope the defendent gets the maximum punishment. I know that my cousin was a drug dealer and he was in the wrong for that but that did not give the Astrans the right to brutally murder him! How can Joe Astran clain self defense when Juan Astran held him down while Joe stabbed him from behind? That shows me Steven was trying to get away. What makes this even worse is that the astrans show no remorse. May god forgive them because i can not.

First of all Steven Joseph Castillo is my brothers name not "drug dealer" how dare you people talk about him like he wasnt a human being. Steven was a proud father, a loving son, and an awsome brother not to mention that his death touched the hearts of many others. For what ever reason they killed him its not justified by the fact that he was a product of his enviorment. What mother wants to say good bye to her child? Who said his daughters didnt need their father? I couldnt be in that court room to hear of all the horrible things they BOTH did to my brother. Just like I couldnt be there by his side when they dropped his casket down in that grave. Steven was a very stong athletic person, the only reason he is not here with us today is because when he had enough fight in him to get away from joe but juan jumped in to help his brother murder my brother. Now in the eyes of the law it is okay for one to get off by blaming the other???? Where is the justice in that? Where is the justice for Steven? for his daughters who hopefully can hold on to the little memories that they have of their father? Juan Astran went to prison for Agg. Assault with injury that was not assault with injury that was cold blooded MURDER.
