The assumption, if you want this offtopic area to go on, is that the private sector would be better at aerial firefighting, if the feds would allow the sale of more surplus C-130 planes, or allow new ones to be bought, rather than gifting them to Third World dictatorships. They don't want private competitors funded by insurance industry who have a real financial incentive to prevent damage. What you are trying to do is lay a trap to say that if Texas had been like Kalifornia and unionized with high taxes, that this would not have happened, rejecting the evidence that Kalifornia has this problem every year, and they still can't stop it.
