It has been a bad year for Fred, he was terminated from his job earlier this year because of a DUI conviction. His son Daniel is a habitually unemployed drug user who's freind stole Fred's laptop computer, which was the company's laptop and sold it for drug money.

It is both their faults but no one should ever do that to anyone. way over the line. hopefully they will both learn from this and realize they need to get their crap together.

How can it be both their faults? Getting bashed in the head with a board doesn't sound like both their faults to me.
Daniel needs help and after this latest incident he will be getting the help he needs.
Daniel was arrested today.

I say it is both their faults because they should have not been out drinking. That is no excuse for what happened but I think drinking has messed up alot of things in freds life and hopefully he will stop after this horrible thing that happened. He has a grandchild on the way and I think that he needs to stop before something worse happens. He has 2 other sons who love him very much. I believe Daniel loves him also but is just making some really bad choices in his life right now. No getting hit in the head with a board does not make it freds fault. That was way out of line and I say if he can do that to his father he can easily do that to someone else and possibly kill them. Yes I know he was arrested yesterday and hopefully he will get counseling along with is jail time.

I totally agree with that statement.

Daniel may not be the only one going to jail over this.
Tampering with evidence is a crime last time I looked. Evidence was indeed tampered with.

I have no idea who tampered, first I have heard this one. But yes if someone did they should be liable for this also. I know his dad is feeling bad about the whole situation. Yes he did almost kill him but it is his son. That has to be hard. Just like the brothers. It is there dad they could have lost him because of what was done but yet it is their brother. I am sure the whole thing is hard for everyone. I feel if you have done wrong you should pay for your crime. I see how hard this is for the oldest son first hand.

Yes the oldest does. He is trying to make a life for him and his fiancee and the upcoming baby. I am very proud of the oldest for stopping his drinking and growing up. He still has some to do but he is still young. I know it is hard for him because he runs back everytime his dad has problems but he can't now because he has his own family to worry about. obviously you know the whole family by what you type.

I may know you. Unless you are new to the family. Is the oldest getting a new brother or sister or are you talking about my little guy that is being born in oct?

Are you talking about the same Fred who had gotten out of jail a week earlier from his 6th DUI conviction, spent several hours that day at different bars and has a long record of interaction with the local police mostly because of alcohol related incidents?

You know, the guy who had his son driving him to the bars because he lost his license for 5 yrs?

I feel sorry for both parties and this should not have happened but certainly one would think that both parties need more than counseling and aggressive treatment for their problems since jail time has done nothing for the father and the son is looking at the same fate unless he changes.

Yes the same Fred. I agree with the more aggressive treatment because nothing seems to be working. I may know you. you are from my hometown. (not in brunswick). It should not have happened and I feel that if they were both not drinking it probably would not have happened.

Fred has been nothing but great to his kids.
He has NEVER laid a hand on Daniel.
As for his DUI's those all but the last one came along time ago.
Daniel got bailed out again by his mother so lets hope he doesn't start drinking and grinding up pills to snort this time.
One wrong move by him and he will be back in jail and no chance for bail.
