Too bad for Bruns-tucky and Medina County. The Cabela's in Dundee, MI is the #1 tourist draw in the state of Michigan, in number of visitors. The sales tax revenue alone makes a huge difference in Monroe County, MI.

This is actually good news for the taxpayers in Medina County. Cabela's only locates into areas where it can get free government handouts (tax breaks, infrastructure, even buildings) with virtually no strings attached. And when there are strings attached, Cabela's doesn't honor their side of the bargain. For example, in Texas, the company has had to pay back well over $150,000 in tax break money because they did not hire the number of employees they said they would.
This company is run by modern day snake oil salesmen who promise anything and give nothing back in return.

I would rather support Fin, Feather and Fur in Ashland anyway. They are locally-owned and support the community.

The funny part about it is that Cabela's in Dundee does not pay Michigan sales tax. Check on it...............

Good--I guess overpriced items don't bother you.

Boy--I wish I had money to burn.

I know I've paid it when I've shopped there. If you know of an incentive program, post your source. Don't tell us to check on it if you can prove it. The Bass Pro Shop in Toledo also got a sales tax incentive. So I'm not saying it's true, I'm saying prove it.

Actually that is typical of any company or store....

Unfortunately, when the local gov't entities can no longer get money to pay for the improvements, let alone for current needs, retailers find out the hard way their growth has ended, and will begin to decline....just my views....
