Support Josh's battle against legislators and their crony lobbyist buddies. Stop the free breakfasts, lunches, and in some cases golf and dinner.:)

You have no idea. Go to this public site and type in your local legislators name or any of their buddy lobbyists and see how much they feed these guys.

Sorry. Brain issue and forgot to paste the lobbyist site. If you know of any non reporting lobbyists please advise the state ethics commission.

Question for the legal minds. We have tried to contact the state bar 4 times but always sent to some woman's voicemail. If an attorney is already retired Emeritus but has a case pending where he/she is the defendant and this individual is found guilty of failing fiduciary duty by hiding a will for 5-10 yrs that they were executor of can they be disbarred even though they retired Emeritus?

ATLANTA - Advocates for ethics reform expect new legislation on lobbyist spending at the Georgia State Capitol.

Candace Mize-Gullatt and daughter Mychael toured the Capitol Monday on Presidentsí Day. Amid portraits of leaders from George Washington to Jimmy Carter, the middle school guidance counselor said she was proud and worried.

"The founders and the forefathers, they really and truly embedded truth and trust and faith. As of today, I just don't see the honesty that they used to have many years ago," said Mize Gullatt.

She's not alone in the United States. A Gallup poll of public trust found only 12 percent rated state office holders highly on honesty and ethical standards, well behind doctors. bankers and lawyers.

Against that backdrop, a new Georgia ethics reform bill is expected this week.

Representative Tommy Smith filed a measure last month, but got no fellow Republicans to sign as co-sponsors. He says a new bill to limit lobbyist spending on lawmakers will have the signatures of five Republicans and five Democrats.

"We're hoping that that can put the pressure on leadership to at least give a committee hearing for something like this," said William Perry, executive director of Common Cause Georgia. "It's amazing the number of constituents that want something like this, yet the legislative leadership is blocking even holding a hearing on it."

The General Assembly will be back in session on Tuesday, when the new ethics bill is to be filed in the State House.
