It does make someone innocent when the charge was dismissed because lack of evidence. Indicating that yes indeed I was innocent. I have paid my dues, all I can do now is go from here and live my life right from here on out. I will mourn for my son until the day we meet again in heaven. His memory will remain with me forever and where ever I go.

Uh okay. How you gonna forget your child? muchless bathe him and feed him. they may not have had an good physical evidence against you, but i mean how else do you prove someone is irresponsible and has some sort of parental gene missing?

We're any of you there? All you are going off of is what the media has said... They will say anything to make it sound more juicy and sell a paper or get someone to watch the news. I'm not going to sit here and defend myself to a bunch of strangers, who don't know me and has obvisouly alredy passed judgement off on me. Until you have walked a mile in my shoes or been through the pain and anguish, then you have no room to keep sitting there like you all are saints. God knows the truth and for that he set me free. You don't believe it, pick up a Bible. It might do you judgemental people some good. Also one more thing before I end this, how dare any of you to say your happy that my son is dead and out of my reach!!! And you call me cruel? And a fake? Take a good hard look in the mirror.... And when you point a finger at someone, your pointing four back at yourself. I am not guilty of these lies!!!!! And I love my Kristopher and would do anything to have him in my arms again..... Until next time....

Those babies were hungry? How could a mother let her children go without food?

April? Tellme how could you let your baby go without food? There isn't a man in this world that could keep me from caring for my child. Not one!

I do feel sorry for you. I hate that your child is dead. But evidently you were NOT doing what you should have been doing or the baby would still be alive. Media coverage can add on and make up to juice up the story...but the truth and the facts are- this baby is dead....and this baby is dead due to neglect.

Shame on you for even coming on here and trying to defend yourself.

You get right with God....don't come on here telling us too, we arn't the ones defending our selves against all this judgemental accusations cause our baby is was murdered by our boyfriends...or by our ignorance and neglect.

I hope you're on birth control now....cause obviously you are not mother material.

WOW! I actually agree with you on this! this is a first! but I guess I should not have said I was glad the baby was dead out of her reach and probably should have said I am glad he is not going to suffer with hunger and neglect pains anymore. And I wonder how Ms. April could put a man before her baby!

This is the last you will probably see me comment on this page... The only reason I even starting making comments is to maybe have someone understand my pain. But my hopes and prayers have failed. I know I will always be considered a monster in you as the readers eyes of this case. It justs makes me speechless that this country automatically wants to point a finger at the accused. I just wish you could have been a fly on the wall... Maybe then you would all sing a different tune toward's me and my son. To be in my shoes for one day. maybe then.... Gooodnight

nope can not even begin to feel your pain but then again I have never but some pos man before my children, once you start to actually take some responsibilty for your own actions or inactions that led to this childs death then you can bleat all you like about how frigging hard done you are, till then quite frankly you will always IMHO be some skanky boitch that thought more from between her legs than anything else. Not judging you just speaking as a mother of two that made dang sure that no man ever has or ever will come before them and that will stand true to the day I die. Had many a day where I went without food so they could eat and eat well etc etc so can never see that a poor little mite would die in such a manner, so stop blaming everyone else for your failure at doing YOUR job which was being a mother.

all we ever hear from you is ME, ME, ME... what about those poor kids? your pain??? please why did you leave the baby strapped in the car seat and hungry? what did the baby die from if you are not at fault? So what you are telling us is that you are not at fault, is that correct and if that is the case then why was that baby so malnourished and why did the baby die? you are still here, you are not and were not starved to death! just wondering since you say your pain this and that....

Mothers need to take more responsibility for their children--as well as men. But women need to stop bringing strange men home around their kids. Get to know someone before letting them around your kids. When you see this stop you will see a decrease in children's deaths by the hands of the mother's boyfriends.

I am completely disgusted at some of these comments left here. I am Mike's brother and know damn good and well that the baby wasn't starved; he ate well everyday. If you want someone to blame, blame the hospitals down in Florida who ignored Kriss's condition.

Before leaving home from Florida, Mike and April stopped at two hospitals to have Kriss checked out. The first hospital rejected him; the second gave b.s. about insurance, then came back less than thirty minutes later saying that he's fine.

Yes, Mike has a history and April's not the best mother in the world (and her history proves that); but neither of them neglected Kriss. Both were there for him through everything, and if you've seen all his pictures, you'd know that.

And to reply to someone else's comment: "If your baby is screaming out in pain what do you do?" For your information, he was quiet the whole night. Mike rented a double bed room and Kriss slept right between him and April, and he didn't make any noise. What really happened was he vomitted and choked on his own puke throughout the night, and he was found pale-green dead in the morning.

"...but nothing is going to bring this poor child back so no punishment will ever be enough."
First, who in the hell do you think you are? And knowing what you do now, can you seriously stand by that statement? I am the only man to actually see Mike cry, and I have spent numerous nights with him buried in my arms over the loss of his son. This man cannot sleep because the scene of waking up and grabbing hold of his cold dead son replays in his mind over and over again. He has Kriss's name tattooed across his chest. How would you feel waking up to your 3-month old son dead?! No punishment is greater than losing your child and living the rest of your life like that.

Once more, I am utterly disgusted at the comments made here. Don't pass judgement on someone unless you know them ot have walked a mile in their shoes. And no, having three kids does not count. Being there through the pain, seeing and living the aftermath, and trying to find peace and continue on with life is impossible with your countless accusations and f^cked up, skewed sense of reality.

No, Dear, it does not mean you are innocent. It means act the moment there is not enough evidence to convict you. Once they have all the evidence, you will be back in jail.

how can you be really sure about what was going on? the reports say ghr following: child was found to be malnourished," dirty and kept strapped in a child's car safety seat on the bathroom floor of his parents' room at the Super 8 Motel, I just have a hard time believing the police would go to great lengths to say these things about a child if it were untrue. They even went so far as to say the other child was healthy and in good health... something is not right with this picture. I am sorry this baby had to die this way.

The police aren't the one's who wrote the article; if they did, it wouldn't say half what it does and not go placing blame to both parents who obviously, by God's grace or otherwise, are still alive.

If you go back and read the story, "Brunswick, GA (AP)." That little (AP) stands for the Associated Press who are the ones to write the report. They can take what's there and write whatever the hell they feel will make a story. Sure they'll keep some of the details the same, but they twist it enough to make it "news"worthy.

And how can I say the baby was in good health? You decide. I uploaded a picture of Kriss to my website (the link: http://rbrettman.net/Kriss_001.jpg ). You tell me if he looks in good health. This picture was taken at one of the hospitals they went to before leaving Florida. This was two days before he died. Look at him in April's arms. Please tell me, does he look malnourished?

There is a thing called slander and being sued. I really do not think all of the news stories are going to lie about everything.

first off, what a really, really pretty baby he was, I am so sorry he died, but to me on that picture he looks a little thin to me for a baby, almost as like he has been missing his milk fat... some people are not cut out for being parents and perhaps this is the case with this family. I don't think it was intentional but perhaps more falling on hard times and circunstances.

I mean no offense here at all. I really don't! You obviously KNOW the people involved and I just know what I have read.(AND IT IS HORRIFIC) With that being said...Looks can be deceiving as far as how well a child, or any person for that matter, is nourished. Someone can have the appearance of just being slightly thin but when a doctor or hospital does blood work, lab work, or autopsy facts can quickly change. A person's lab work can tell if they aren't getting adequete nutrition. From the picture all I can tell is that HE WAS A BEAUTIFUL, I MEAN BEAUTIFULLLLL LITTLE BOY! He did actually look slightly thin, but that is my personal opinion.
Also, I just want to state that the fact that Mike Woods had this child's name tattooed on his chest doesn't mean anything. Once again, no offense, but I have a friend who has 9, YES 9, different men's names/initials tattooed on her! She swore with every single tattoo that she loved that man more than anything. Now she has the tattoos, the men are history and she could care less. My Point is tattoos do not mean LOVE! Tattoos simply mean you had ink done...PERIOD! Tattoos can be removed...just like this little beautiful baby was removed.

I also have to add: How do we know that this was taken at the hospital? And who takes opictures of their kids when they take them to the hospital?

Because I got this picture out of Mike's wallet, it was dated on the back, and I asked him about it. BTW, you remember that Kriss wasn't even a few months old, so even still, this would be one of his last pictures

Good point. I forgot to mention. There is a 2.5 million dollar lawsuit right now against the state of Georgia because of slander, unlawful arrest, false imprisonment, failure of due process, and more that I can't remember off the top of my head.
