Georgia - Glynn County Baby Death Investigation

Police say a North Carolina couple faces child abuse charges in the case of the 3-month-old boy found dead in a Glynn County motel room.

I am a friend of the family of April Schultz and I am QUITE upset with all of this.. For one thing the police in Florida KNEW of Mike Wood arrest he is charged with more in different states and NOONE did what they were supposed to have done.. Neither the Social Services did there job here in Asheboro N.C. April had lied to SEVERAL people. Both lied to churches and all I am just so upset that NOONE did a thing and listened to Her husband nor her Dad about Mike he should have been sent here to NC and not let him leave. Kristopher would still be alive.. ALSO for a fact The 16 month old son wasn't in GOOD health he was also starved as well. He is with his Bioligical dad now in N.C. Thank God he is alive.. This justice system sucks if you ask me.. People knew and didn't believe her husband HE IS a good dad and all... Next time when things like this happens investigate the story and listen to other people and not just them.. very good con artist if I may add. That baby WOULD STILL be alive to this day if it wasnt for our lovely system... AM pissed... and others are as well....

This isn't the first case like this and I'm afraid it won't be the last, either. Children's Services leaves a lot to be desired, for sure. They need to start prosecuting people who are PAID to look out for these children and don't.

I agree with Mel. She is a great person and spoke the truth in her comment made. I know of 4 different states that failed when it came to the system "the authorities" being aware of the behavior of both April Schultz & Michael Woods, but yet nothing was done to stop them. The children were left in their "care" and it was like as a society it is now easier to turn our heads. We are April's family and friends of, however, we could not stop her, we preached to her, we begged and pleaded with her to stop running around with this guy. She is a married woman, and we begged and begged, but nothing seemed to matter to April but April or I should say but the temptations of life. She would play games with us and disappearing acts, therefore there was simply nothing we could do but pray. We prayed the system would take over where we couldn't and they didn't. I am very upset, angry, and sad to say the least....

Make no mistake, I am not blaming the system or anyone else for the behavior nor the actions of April or Michael, they are indeed the ones that starved this innocent baby, however, I am blamming the system for being notified of and knowing full well of the problems surrounding these two, but yet doing nothing about it. April and Michael should be held 100% accountable for their wrong doings. Make no mistake on my stand on that.

The State of Florida let Mike go and I just can't believe this still... When you see a infant remember our little Kris starved to death hadn't ate in 72 hrs,, remember him.. also don't believe EVERYTHING you hear,,,people like this makes it harder on the good people now because of what had happened I know some won't help due to this... ggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrr AND the 16 month old WASN'T in good health knowing that this 2 month old starved wouldn't anyone in the right mind think about what state the 16 month old was in?? I reckon not.. being in good health sheesh... I saw and felt his little poor ribs and he is eating like he never ate in such a LONG time.. who made that comment that said he was??

TWO of them let this child starve to death. They ought to throw 'em both in a hole and leave 'em there till they suffer the same fate.

Her mom said that they both need to be tied to the chair and be left for 3 days without eating.. thats what I think should be done as well let them starve...

that wont do much...they could easliy go without eating for 3 days...it would suck...but an adults body can do it...no..they need to be cut all over their body with rusty razor blades...tied up in a room then let some rats in the room with them.

Ya know, this all makes me SICK! I knew April for several years, worked with her and her mom at Energizer in Asheboro... Knowing April the way I did (or thought I did) and then hearing this makes me want to puke! I have a 9 month old son and I couldn't imagine him not eating, screaming because he was hungry and putting him in a car seat in the bathroom. COWARDS! That is what these two jerks are.
I swear to God they are LUCKY the cops got them before I did! They will pay here on earth and then answer to the God of their choice when the time comes.
From my understanding this charge they have pending holds the death penalty in GA. I hope they FRY!!
I tried so hard to get April away from Michael.. I tried and so did many others... She's such a follower she does anything any "man" says. She lied to me and used me and my family... Then, when she couldn't get anything more from us, she took off just 4 days before Christopher was to be born. I even went to their house twice to see the baby and they wouldn't answer. I seen their cars there, both theirs and April's mom's and no one would answer.

I hear all this talk about the system failing well April had the system believing that her husband was beating preston and I seen the bruises on his face how they got there I have no idea. so thats why no body listened to Jason its hard to listen to someone when April said and had a court order against Jason. had I know then what i know now. I myself would have called protective services on her. she used me and used me, and others i know very well, I can't even say on here how I feel about them two its so beyond words, I do know April is so out of control and does not think for herself unless she is coning someone out of something, well it all caught up to her now and that baby had no chance in this world. They can both rot in jail I do not eer want to see either of their faces again the rest of my life. Thank God Jason has Preston now. He is safe thats all that matters, I know Jason will take great care of him now. I love that little boy he is a doll.

What were they driving that broke down and they had to be gone for days to fix? I hope they get the death penality. No matter if she was a leader or follower she had to know what she was doing!! She knew she was killing that baby and the other little one would have died to if it was up to her it seems. I know that drugs can make people do crazy things but this no way. She was just a sorry waste of time and space if you ask me. I hope justice will be had here but nothing is going to bring this poor child back so no punishment will ever be enough.
