Would like to know if anyone has an update on the condition of the woman pulled from the sand bar area @ Jekyll Island yesterday afternoon. My sister called 911 and a bystander found the woman and kept her afloat until Fire Dept arrived & pulled her out. CPR was in progress when she left in the ambulance. Would like to know if she survived. Prayers for her & her family! Hoping to hear Good News!

My sister has recently been told that the victim had been transported to a Savannah hospital yesterday but no news on her condition. Please pray for this young woman & her family!

Not sure if this is the same young woman, but we have lost a local teenager (Augusta, GA) by drowning on Jekyll Island yesterday, July 31, 2013.

Thanks for the information...I bet it is probably the same woman,my sister said that she looked to be a young black woman possibly late teens to early twenties but she didn't get a good look at her and was unsure.(Does this sound like the same woman?) She called me very upset while she was waiting to direct the Fire Dept to the correct location at around 4:30pm or so. She has been really worried about the woman and wanted to know the outcome. So sorry for this family...will keep them in our prayers!

Yes, I think so. She was an upcoming junior at our small Catholic high school. Such a tragedy for her family and school family. Prayers are appreciated!

Thank you so much to you and your sister for the concern and for calling 911. Well she didn't make it, but God has a reason for everything. He always knows what is best even though we may not understand his reason.
