Now I'm not defending one side or the other regarding what is "right" or "fair". These people have lived under the umbrella of month-to-month leases. There were no long-term leases. Just as any of them could opt-out of a lease, so may the property owner. That's the danger of such an agreement. In lieu of lower propery-rent, there was always the threat that such action could occur. I'm glad that GP is at least working with the residents to help with relocation expenses. I'm sure that wasn't in their lease agreement. It will be interesting to see how this progresses over the next few months. With a looming recession, it is a tough situation for both residents and a locally-rooted company trying to expand its opportunities.

Just a note about GP-Cellulose:
The Brunswick mill, which has been in operation since 1937, has the capability to produce over 800,000 tonnes of cellulose each year. Additionally, it is the largest single-site fluff production facility in the world.

I am Maryann, and yes things did work out.. Brunswick Mill was very considerate in paying 3000.00 to move my doublewide.
I had never missed a payment to arco, paid on time everytime.
Arco had seveal theives that were with the collection of lot payments.
they really did a lot of the ppl in @ that area..
I had all back cks from payments paid ..
They did try to act like I hadnt paid for 2 months, when I produced my
bank statements to Arco Developement, guess what, they went somewhere else to find somebody that didnt keep good records.
And by the way NEVER did I collect ANY welfare at all..
My parents taught me to work for a living,,
worked with wal mart 10 years total between Fl and Ga
Publix for years, and than finally to a hotel and babysitting..
all 3 children are and have been on there on and they work for a living.
