Seriously people, go to Wal Mart and just look around. Enough said. This town is a dump. It's only going to get worse.

I lived there once, and have hopes of at least making a visit there again someday. Personally, I prefer GA to FL, and leaving GA in the first place was a mistake. Why do you feel the place is a problem? Can you give any specifics?

The city is literally full of poor urban trash that has no desire to better themselves. The county is full of poor rural trash. Look at the crime, child molestation, theft, drug use, inbreeding and I'm not being sarcastic and overall condition of Glynn County. Add to that, the area surrounding Glynn brings in an influx of more trash. It's sad. I grew up there and it has really turned into a sh** hole. Look up the crime, per capita, higher than Savannah.

All you have to do is go sit in Wal Mart for about 30 minutes. You'll see everything you need to see.

I'll take your word for it, although I still want to visit again one day, go to the beaches, etc. I lived there in 2007, and moved early on in 2008, and my life turned to crap afterwards. Although not long, '07 was the best year I had in quite some time because of that place, because I was here in Crossville previously and then moved there. Honestly, I'd say the chances are not very high that I'll move back, so a visit is the best I can think of. Good memories there, and it's sad to know it's tearing itself down.

You know, like everywhere, there are still good people there. The islands are nice but really, if you're in a crappy situation, move back. It'll be tough at first but just say F it and do it. It'll be worth it in the long run.

I'm having a tough time finding a job right now, plus I may be going to a community college within the next couple years, and on top of that places in Brunswick are out of my price range

yeah right on...the brunswick walmart is freak-ville most of the times that i go there. the employees and management aren't as nice there as other stores either. the walmarts in jesup and waycross are both much much better, quicker and easier to get in and out, no need for security patrols in the parking lots

I must be one of those "influx of trash" as you called us for moving here because I came here homeless and looking for a job. You are a snob.

Did you ever think maybe they can't afford better? If you are so high and mighty then why are you at Walmart anyway??? Go with the other snobs to Target and Publix and leave the place where the poor can afford the products to us "trash".

I for one have lived in a mansion near Atlanta and had my feel of snobs like you. I'm more at home in this RV park working for my rent with the other "trash" people then I've ever been around snobs like you.

SHAME on you for passing judgement. You should go pray!

There's a HUGE difference between not being well off and being mouth breathing, dirty, slack jawed, poor hygene, trash. I too live a modest lifestyle but I still have enough self pride to wash my a$$, put deo on so i don't stink and try to take care of myself. It really has nothing to do with what you can afford, it has to do with wether or not you're a piece of s***, which Brunswick is becoming over populated with. Child Molestors, Baby killers, dopers, thugs, pillheads.

I go to Wal Mart because I too don't have a lot, so before you go next time, do me a favor and wash, wear clean underwear, be sober, don't break into my truck, don't cuss and just take a little pride in yourself.

You missed my entire piint and got defensive, so you assumed I was talking about you??? Just wash your a$$, that's really all I'm asking. Oh dont kill or molest anyone too. That's basically it.

I used to live there and even after being gone for the past 7 years, still only feel at home in Bwk. There have been alot of changes, for sure, and few for the better.
The economy has tanked everywhere and rather than trying to bring in jobs and industry, it seems the city/county commissioners are interested in doing is taking more money off people.
The police, at one time, looked and acted like police. Now, they strut around in full military gear, violate rights of the people and treat everyone as though they are the terrorists.
Property prices are still good, though. And that's the only thing I have seen on the "plus side".

Personally, I have drastically improved my life and financial being since leaving. I own two businesses and also work in the film industry. None of these could be afforded to me while living there, sadly, as the endless cycle of raging poverty just would not allow it.

I also noticed that the people there are kind and friendly with you until you leave. Then, they become gossiping, trouble causing, crap stirring lunatics. I get all the back talk while I am gone but when I visit, those very same people that talked crap behind your back are warm and friendly again- until the next time I leave. The past few visits, I slipped in, visited with good, close friends and slipped out before the crap kickers knew I was there.

Its sad, you know, because as I said earlier, Bwk is the place I feel at home. I liked it there. LIfe was good and easy; relaxed, even. I am looking at maybe moving my business down to south Fla now. Georgia is completely out of the equation.

me and my family moved from GA to FL... worst decision ever as far as moves. FL people are nuts and garbage. When I worked in Brunswick, I was treated with every respects. When I moved to FL, I was treated like garbage, and insulted behind my back, even by the bosses. If that isn't enough for you, you can kill a child in FL and get off the hook, yet if you so much as get a traffic ticket, They'll throw the book at you. I personally would have loved to come back to Brunswick, yet the family chose TN instead. (Crossville sucks too, yet Nashville and Chattanooga are great) I'm sure there no doubt is garbage there too, yet I can honestly say I've met some of the nicest people when I lived there. One notable difference being that places like here in Crossville, there's a lot of racists here (I'm white, yet I still stand against Racism) and even if you are white, They will still discriminate because you never grew up here, However in GA, nobody treated me like that. I apparently don't have a GA style accent, and people picked up on that because They asked if I'm not from around there, lol. Yet They still welcomed me all the same and treated me with nothing except kindness. I'm done with the dating game, yet if I ever did decide to try it again, I'd definitely go for some of the Ladies in GA too. Going to FL was a screwjob to me. I lose damn near everything. I left FL with less than I had going in, and those are years of my life I'm never going to get back. I'll take your words for it that Brunswick has indeed gone down the crapper, yet I can at least say when I lived in Brunswick was the last time I felt happy. The beaches, the scenery, woods and fields, and some of the people, I miss it all. I'm pretty sure nobody will know me if I came back today, let alone I sadly doubt I'll move back, yet I still at least would like to take a trip back there sometime.

I never wanted to live here to begin with. I am only here for my son. This is the worst place I have ever lived. Shootings, murders, thugs, trash, rapists, crack-heads, etc. I am from Atlanta and have never felt as un-safe as I do here. Sad thing is, FLETC is here. The heat, humidity, bugs, and the smell was bad enough. Now I don't even go out at night. Can't wait to get out of here. Just look at the statistics. Pathetic. Most these people cannot hold a job or function in society. I always called it "the arm-pit of Georgia". I could go on and on.
