Oh my gosh, look what started to creep up in 2007, what in the world was going on....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Recession
According to the U.S. National Bureau of Economic Research (the official arbiter of U.S. recessions) the recession began in December 2007 and ended in June 2009.[16][17] US mortgage-backed securities, which had risks that were hard to assess, were marketed around the world. A more broad based credit boom fed a global speculative bubble in real estate and equities, which served to reinforce the risky lending practices.[18][19]
The bad financial situation was made more difficult by a sharp increase in oil and food prices. The emergence of sub-prime loan losses in 2007 began the crisis and exposed other risky loans and over-inflated asset prices. With loan losses mounting and the fall of Lehman Brothers on September 15, 2008, a major panic broke out on the inter-bank loan market. As share and housing prices declined, many large and well established investment and commercial banks in the United States and Europe suffered huge losses and even faced bankruptcy, resulting in massive public financial assistance.
Tell us something we didn't already know. I don't think we all need a history lesson.
The point of the article was a simple one. We have been in the longest stretch of unemployment of 7.5% and higher since 1948. That is when the Bureau of Labor Statistics started calculating the unemployment rates.
The point is this country needs jobs. It doesn't need government rules, regulations, and healthcare bills that hurts job growth.
Obama promised us a lower unemployment rate and we haven't come close to getting it.

At least we haven't seen "the rich don't pay their fair share" in some time...
I find it amazing that the libroids tout this equality for all BS, yet they don't want all to contribute equally. Ask them about that, their idealogy falls apart.

"Union County Nursing Home, of Blairsville, Georgia accepts patients covered by Medicare and Medicaid"
Wow - Medicare and Medicaid - two if the most socialist government run medical care programs on the face of the Earth - here in Union County.
"This nursing home has 150 beds making the facility larger than the Georgia state average of 111.53."
Wow - it's even worse than thought - Union County's hotbed of socialism is larger than the state average - we are worse socialist than most !
"Also, 147 residents at Union County Nursing Home, are more than than the average state nursing homes population of 95.42, and is more full at 98% than the 86.45% occupied average Georgia nursing home."
Damn - It's even worse - Union County residents keep their hotbed of socialism fuller than other places' hotbeds of socialism.

Again repeat, lost in space translation.

I must agree with OMTE's assessment in his post #17472. That doesn't mean I agree with all his verbal bantering, but in thought and ideas he is right as right can be.
The only fault that I can find is the 11 million illegal alien figure. It is going to end up more like 30-35 million. The 11 million figure has been used for the last 20 years. It should be enough to bankrupt this country.

The AHCA is designed to fail. I am afraid it is designed to put the government in charge of everything that has to do with healthcare. That would be a single payer system.
What is even scarier, if that is possible, that the whole healthcare system in this country may collapse and we will all have no healthcare.

Do you think that you've overstated the situation just a bit...
http://useconomy.about.com/od/tradepolicy/p/I...
In 2012, total U.S. trade with foreign countries was $4.9 trillion. This consisted of $2.194 trillion in exports and $2.734 trillion in imports of both goods and services. This makes the U.S. is the world's third largest exporter, after the European Union (EU) and China, and the world's second largest importer, after the EU.
What Does the U.S. Export?:
More than two-thirds of U.S. exports are material goods ($1.547 trillion). One-third of all goods exported ($527 billion) is capital equipment. The largest sub-categories are industrial machines ($46 billion), commercial aircraft ($45 billion), and semiconductors ($42 billion). Capital equipment also includes medical equipment, telecommunications and computer equipment.
Another third is industrial supplies and equipment ($501 billion). The largest sub-categories are fuel oil ($60 billion), petroleum products ($57 billion) and chemicals ($35 billion). Industrial supplies also includes plastics, gold and steel.
Nine percent of U.S. goods exports are automobiles ($146 billion).
The fourth largest category is consumer goods ($182 billion). This includes pharmaceuticals ($48 billion), cell phones ($22 billion) and gem diamonds ($18 billion).
The smallest category ($133 billion) is foods, feeds and beverages. This includes soybeans ($26 billion), meat/poultry ($18 billion) and corn ($10 billion).(Source: U.S. Census, Exhibit 7. Exports by End-Use Category, 2012)
The remaining third of exports are services ($632 billion). Travel passenger services was the largest single category, at $128 billion. Next was royalties and license fees, at $121 billion. Passenger fares totaled $40 billion, while other transportation was $43 billion. Government and military contracts was $20 billion. The rest was miscellaneous private services, which includes financial services.(Source: U.S. Census, Exhibit 3, U.S. Services by Major Category -- Exports, 2012).

Or perhaps Mr or Mrs Galore saw the ECI index which shows America falling 6 places down from 1998-2008 to 13th place. Can't find how far we've fallen since Obama has been is office but best guess would probably be another couple drops or more.

ECI Index:

"Hausmann and Hidalgo propose the concept of ECI not only as a descriptive measure, but also as a predictive tool for economic growth. According to their models, compiled in their Atlas of Economic Complexity (2011),[1] the ECI is far more accurate in predicting GDP growth than the traditional governance measures such as those provided by the World Bank."

Still no answers or accountability from Eric Holder or the Obama Administration on Fast and Furious. Another crime committed with a Fast and Furious gun. Perhaps I had read or heard about this murder and people assaulted, but was not made aware by the media that it was another Fast and Furious gun being used.

When they grant these 11 milllion illegals amnesty. Then they're whole dang family can come over here and according to that moron Jeb Bush they have very large families. These illegal 11 million immigrants will quickly turn in to 50 or 60 million virtually overnight if this garbage bill is passed into law as a whole and not broken up. We followed blindly behind Reagan and Bush only to now watch as Obama attempts to finish what they started. It is not a hate thing or racial thing to not want to give your country away to people that hate you. Americans have stayed quiet for to long. Most Americans are disgusted with the way are government is run by both parties. Most just think it's pointless to fight the government, because they're just too big. I don't think this is the Country that George Washington imagined, nor do I think he would have stood for it.
Hey.. We agree on a lot if things.

Illegals should be deported and their employers put in prison.

Just thank, that'll save the $30 Billion they want to waste hiring more Border Patrol Agents to play "Red Rover" and "Ollie Ollie in Free with illegals.

As for ObamaCare - most Americans want it, or they want something even more radical. They're tired of being the knuckleheads who pay the highest costs for medical services in the industrialized world.

Maybe someday we'll be as smart as the rest of the industrialized world and turn the instance companies' profits into better medical care - like we did with that's socialist Medicare.

Now General,

As a government employee collecting a government check and benefits,(and we understand free use of a government horse), perhaps you shouldn't be claiming to know all that much about the private sector.

Is it true that after "The War", you still collected a government check ?

What ?

History existed prior to 2009 ?

You must be crazy.

Next thing you know you'll be claiming our Right Wing presidents have doubled and tripled the debt, and one inherited a balanced budget and created a 1.4 Trillion Dollar deficit- not counting an additional $ 6 Trillion Dollar debt for an illegal war in some God-Forsaken place called Iraq.

Now that would be really crazy.

America at # 133, behind Belize and Estonia but ahead of Poland, Fiji, Lebanon, and Eygpt.

By claiming Obama is a right winger, he can disassociate himself from Obama. Probably the only thing keeping him from going to the nuthouse, or shooting himself.

If I had voted for Obama, I would shoot myself. Would be kinda nice if those who voted for him would do so. Would save America a ton of money supporting them.
