U.S. Border Security is Getting Better. You don’t hear this very often in America, and certainly we all want border security to be even better, but according to human smugglers in Central America, American border security is the best that it has ever been. It is so good, in fact, that smugglers are now offering a “three trips for the price of one” guarantee. That’s right. Smugglers no longer expect to succeed the first time, so they promise to try a second and third try for the former one trip price.
Our successful border security is demonstrated by migration patterns. Today, fewer migrants who are in the U.S. illegally are returning home. In years past, annual trips home to Central America were common, but today, the risk of not being able to get back into the country has grown much higher and fewer migrants are willing to take the risk.(Note that adults stopped close to the border are deported very quickly, often within two weeks. Children are a much harder case that I will discuss later.)
The risk of not being able to reenter America is a costly one. As much as 10% of the population of these small Central American countries live in America today, and as much as 20% of their GDP comes from money sent home from workers in America. That financial life-line is crucial to both the individual families and the individual nations. Instead of the bread winner risking crossing the border to see their family, they are paying smugglers to try to bring their family to America. This explains a part of the recent increase in women and children crossing the border. HHS reports that 55% of the children crossing the border have a parent—not a family member or guardian (that number would be much higher), but a parent—living in the U.S.
I’ve always known that the better we get at border security the more people we’ll keep out. I now know that the better we get at border security the more people we’ll keep in too.

Hmmm, "in which people are not allowed to disagree with the government", or perhaps where people who dare to disagree with the government are called racists or greedy or selfish. Check.
==========
Philosophy of government that stresses the primacy and glory of the state, unquestioning obedience to its leader, subordination of the individual will to the state's authority, and harsh suppression of dissent.
"primacy and glory of the state" or the government itself, perhaps? Check.
"unquestioning obedience to its leader" - you members of the other party had better not DARE to interfere with what Obama wants to do. Check.
"subordination of the individual will" - Check
"suppression of dissent" - having the IRS deny 501(c)(4) status to those organizations that disagree - Check investigating journalists (and their parents)- Check subpoenaing phone records and emails of journalists - Check.
Yep, the current Left is looking more and more fascist all the time.

House Republicans Cut Administration Funding Request To Fight Ebola

Republicans seem to be fine with a global pandemic.

Remember this the next time Republicans start ranting about 'dirty immigrants' and more. There are some things this country does really well, and one of them involves research and treatment for emerging health threats, like Ebola.

Now it is a fact that the Ebola virus is raging out of control in some areas of Africa, so naturally House Republicans did this:

House Republicans indicated Tuesday that they will provide less than half of the White House's funding request to fight Ebola in the next government spending bill.

According to a source familiar with the negotiations, House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers (R-Ky.) agreed as of Tuesday morning to spend a total of $40 million to fight the epidemic in the 2015 spending bill.

This would include $25 million for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and $15 million for the Biological Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) to ramp up production of an experimental anti-Ebola drug, the source said.

The White House had asked for $88 million for Ebola in total, including $58 million for BARDA, which is involved in coordinating experimental treatments during public health emergencies.

A spokeswoman for the House Appropriations Committee would not confirm the numbers, saying the details of the bill are not yet finalized.

The funding fight comes amid desperate cries for help fighting Ebola from health workers in West Africa and institutions like the United Nations.

CDC Director Thomas Frieden says the epidemic is spiraling out of control and needs immediate attention from lawmakers and officials around the world.

The death count in West Africa exceeded 2,000 people this week.

I wonder if they would have been as stingy if the outbreak were happening in Europe.

And I see we're going to get yet another piecemeal budget from them to avoid a shutdown. This one will go through December 11th, if approved. Just in time to avoid accountability during the midterms.

No Benghazi "Stand Down" Order Was Given: Another Fox Narrative Falls Apart

Narrative Was Pushed In 85 Fox Primetime Segments

A claim pushed dozens of times by Fox News that security forces were ordered to "stand down" during the September 11, 2012 Benghazi attacks on a U.S. diplomatic facility collapsed after the commander of those security forces testified that he received no such order.

This is not the first time the Fox "stand down" narrative has been discredited.

A search of the Nexis database shows that the accusation that these security forces were ordered to "stand down" was made in 85 segments on the network's primetime shows by Fox hosts, contributors, guests, and in video accompanying news reports and commentary.

He is simply pointing out what we all know. The vulnerable dems are watching their political careers go down the drain. They have no idea how to save their re-election. The republicans are in the catbird seat right now and don't want to rock the boat. The dems would be doing the very same thing if the situation was reversed.

"90% of working women..... would like the option to stay at home..." (Where does that number come from? Is it from the Forbes survey ?). Hey, here's an Idea. Pay folks a living wage and many more would be able to realize that option.- don't ya think?

You can find some of the Forbes survey here:(I don't see the 90% figure. Maybe there is another survey that shows it.)

And just which working women are they talking about? The attorney pulling down 200k or the hotel service worker barely making 20k. Which women can realistically consider of the option of staying home? Raise the minimum wage.

Just what misinformation are you referring to? That women are concerned about job security, national security, about not having a society that "attempts to emasculate" their husbands or sons.

How about a Leftist ideology that trivializes the real pain abused women endure in a slimy attempt to "score a point" against a Republican governor. Wasserman-Schultz could hardly have timed her idiotic tirade at a worse time. She describes Scott Walker as having "given women the back of his hand. I know that is stark. I know that is direct. I know that is reality," Umm, no, that is hyperbolic rhetoric typical of you. She then continued with "What Republican tea party extremists like Scott Walker are doing is they are grabbing us by the hair and pulling us back. It is not going to happen on our watch,". Even Walker's Democrat opponent criticized the in the gutter attack.

Poor W-S, not two days later we get stark evidence of REAL abuse by a man in the form of Ray Rice knocking his fiancee out with one blow. But at least W-S came out an apologized to abused women everywhere for her insensitivity….oh, wait….
