Well, at any rate, your guy won and I hope you'll always be happy about that.
He'd rather whine about Bush than admit his dear leader is a GLOBAL FLOP.

FAIRTAX…………..==== A BIG MESS……and a big pipe dream….will include Federal Taxes on all utilities, i.e., electricity, water, heating fuel, phone, etc….

The FairTax Act H.R. 25………….
Does not replace State Sales taxes……..FairTax is for Federal Gubmint use only….
Dependent upon the 16th Amendment being repealed…….good luck on getting the 16th repealed….

States would collect the revenue and remit to the Treasury…..

Section 2…..Number 12 refers to Taxable Employer…..Item C, referenced to 103(b)(2).
Number 12 includes this……(A) IN GENERAL- The term `taxable employer' includes--
any household employing domestic servants, and
any government except for government enterprises (as defined in section 704).
(B) EXCEPTIONS- The term `taxable employer' does not include any employer which is--
engaged in a trade or business,
a not-for-profit organization (as defined in section 706), or
a government enterprise (as defined in section 704).

Section 103..Collection and remittance of tax….
(b)(2)…. CERTAIN WAGES OR SALARY- In the case of wages or salary paid by a taxable employer which are taxable services, the employer shall remit the tax imposed by section 101.
Fairtax taxes all State, County, and City governments a 23% wage tax, a 23% pension tax, and a 23% operational expenditure tax.
Which will increase taxes within the States, Counties, and Cities to make up for the lost 23% revenue…..(actually over 30%)

Any way one looks at it…..Fair Tax is a boondoggle of a tax that will only increase folks payout in the form of more taxes locally and within each State……..
In addition,,, FairTax is just another HUGE Entitlement program that would require more payout than the combined budgets of the “Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Education, Energy, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, and Interior combined.”

Fiscal conservatives and libertarians favor small government, low taxes, limited regulation, and free enterprise.....

Anyone who considers FairTax a Conservative viewpoint is mis-informed about Conservatism……..

Liberal poster-
"Part of your post I do agree with, resorting to name calling is #1. Why, because talking to the ultra conservative tea party is like talking to a brick wall. The wall knows its right, knows why its right and refuses to believe anything contrary to the walls beliefs. An example of this problem is , if its raining on the wall and the wall doesn't believe in rain, its not raining, and it just ignores the fact that something wet is falling on it. When dealing with something this dense and unwilling to acknowledge the truth, name calling is the only thing you can do."

Conservative poster-
"AND you have just described to a T what it is like trying to converse with a lunatic left winger. Thanks.
We have an administration that should have NEVER been elected and you REFUSE to admit your mistake. If Obama were to blow up half of the U.S., you would defend him. THAT is why you are NEVER to be trusted AGAIN."

There in a nutshell is why the political divide in this country and manifested to the nth degree on this forum is practically hopeless. There is no thought even of compromise from either side. There is almost no effort to explore common ground. Both sides accusing each other of the exact same things.

There's quite a few articles out there where people (lots of people) have left the Republican Party because of its extreme shift to the right, admitting that the Republican Party is on the wrong track.

― Benjamin Netanyahu
That's just Netanyahu trying his best of justify the amount of women and children he is killing. Israel is killing women and children at a rate the would make Hitler smile. Hamas on the other hand has been trying to kill Israelis' with little success for many years. And Hamas is the problem, not the Palestinian people who Israel is killing. ALL the current leadership in charge in Israel are doing is creating future terrorists that will hate and despise them till they day they are killed.

FYI, Israel is not just made up of Jews, they just control everything with a larger population. Like the U.S. where the sane control the federal government as the idiot fringe bitches and moans with no real answers to any problems.

In Israel the hard liners have taken charge, and the blood of innocent people is flowing. One of the most populated places on earth now is going to be without clean water and power,, how many people with that kill.

The Jews are complaining and even running ads on FNC asking people to contact Washington and ask them to help the Jews. That's a slap in the face to the U.S. and the amount of money spent to HELP them is astounding, the iron shield which is knocking down most of the rockets was paid for by the U.S. The Jews in Israel are getting very good at using Christians love for Jesus to get more money and arms. I wonder just how many of our people really understand the Jews opinion of Jesus.

Let's put all this in real context.
A year ago "Where" posts about how the Hate Crimes Prevention Act was amended "to include crimes motivated ...
For the sake of real context, you are known to mis-characterize news articles and other people's posts, so let's look at the actual conversation that took place....

Here's the post with the links to the Evergreen College incident.
http://www.topix.com/forum/city/blairsville-g...

And here's my response:
"The fact remains, Washington State passed the law, Evergreen College enacted a policy, apparently the Adults at the college who were leasing the recreation space and the adults who managed the high school swim team weren't communicating.
Oops, surprise...."

Yep you're original post did mention complaints filed by parents of young children, and while this is unfortunate it is again an example of poor communication on the part of those in control of the facility.

So tell us, how does pointing this out make me a "pedophile apologist", it doesn't and you know it.

==========
Here's the link which shows my response to the LA County School District transgender dustup...
http://www.topix.com/forum/city/blairsville-g...

You're entire position stems from one of modesty, my response continues to be that a de-emphasis of nudity as something shameful would go a long way towards relieving people of these feelings. Besides, don't all female public restrooms consist of stalls, usually with doors - and you're main concern continues to be that boys will want to sneak a peak.

Sorry, I just can't match your level of outrage...

So of course that makes me a "pedophile apologist.

So tell us, are the movies "Summer of 42" and "In the Mood" recruiting tools to swell the ranks of pedophiles or are they simply examples of people who have relations across an age barrier that merely establishes a legal definition of what constitutes a minor and an adult.

Please,
keep posting on this subject,
keep mischaracterizing my posts and positions,
Keep proving that you are the American Taliban.

Crazy For "Obama Phones" - But Are They For Real?
http://www.forbes.com/sites/kellyphillipserb/...

...As I reported months ago, there is a law in place to help low-income customers have access to basic telephone service. It’s divided into two programs: Link-Up America and Lifeline.

Link-Up assists consumers with the installation costs of phone service. The program pays up to $30 of the cost of installation and up to $200 in the form of a one year, interest-free loan for additional installation costs.

Lifeline provides discounts on basic monthly service at a primary residence for qualified telephone customers. These discounts can be up to $10.00 per month, or more for certain Native Americans. Generally, to qualify, your income must be at or below 135% of the federal poverty guidelines (these vary by location and size of family but for comparison, rings in at $22,350 for a family of four in the lower 48).

In some instances, coverage may include discounts for cell phone service instead of land lines at primary residences because realistically, cell phone service is less expensive in some areas than traditional service. Eligibility and type of program may vary from state to state – and this is why there is a flurry of confusion about the program being a product of the Obama administration. In Florida, for example, cell phone service was added to the existing program – in 2008, the year that Obama was elected to office. The conclusion from many folks was that it was a new federal program. It was not. It was an expansion of the existing program and implemented on a state by state basis.

The federal program wasn’t started by President Obama. It dates back to the 1980s and was significantly expanded in 1996, as part of the Telecommunications Act of 1996. The Act did a number of things, including increasing internet access to doctors and patients in rural hospitals (for consults with specialists); subsidizing internet and phone coverage for schools and libraries and providing free or subsidized coverage for families who can’t afford it so that they have links to emergency and government services. The Act was not taxpayer funded… exactly. Taxpayers do pay for coverage but not via federal income taxes. Instead, the Act “mandated the creation of the universal service fund (USF) into which all telecommunications providers are required to contribute a percentage of their interstate and international end-user telecommunications revenues.” So that little fee on your phone bill labeled USF? That’s what you’re paying for.
