If you had a brain to go along with your mouth we could talk about the issue, you don't. You sir are one of the most clueless. bigoted, brainwashed humans on the planet. So you have accomplished something with your pitiful life full of misunderstanding and hate, congrats.
LMAO.

The irony has started already. If this poster had a brain, he/she still wouldn't be able to talk about issues...

Good thing there's lots of football (and hoops) on TV today...

Not gonna deny that there are probably many actions taken by Mandela between the time he renounced peaceful agitation and his arrest that qualify as terrorist actions. And I definitely separate his actions from his corrupt and brutal ex-wife Winnie Mandela. But I think it is easy for us to sit here in our comfortable situation and judge his actions when we did not grow up under an apartheid system. From what I have read, he spent 20 years trying for peaceful change before heading (founding?) what could safely be called a terrorist group. I am not going to defend his actions, but I frankly don't know enough about the situation to outright condemn him for them.
What is undeniable though is that once he was released and elected President, his actions were all aimed toward a peaceful transition of South Africa. Politically I think it can be argued he succeeded, especially when you look at the civil wars and violence that are rampant in so many other African countries. Or look at Zimbabwe under Mugabe - country wide confiscation of the farms of white farmers who have owned the land for generations. Mandela seemed to be focused on the forward progress of his country, not in dwelling on a horrific past and seeking vengeance that would have only thrown South Africa into chaos. It is still be no means a peaceful country, but it has not been torn apart as it might have been. For that, I think the credit must go to Mandela and for that he has my respect.
Since Mandela's release from prison and his long reign of terror, which was continued by his ex-wife Winnie during his imprisonment, South Africa has gone from a reasonably safe industrialized nation, to a nation with one of the highest murder rates in the world. Those who haven't left and who can, have to pay private security companies to protect them 24/7.

This is a nation already many years down the path to putrid squalor. I guess the murder of innocent men, women, and children was worth it, wouldn't you say, Aggie? There can be no doubt that the plight of both black and white South Africans is far worse than it was before Mandela and the communists took over the African National Congree (ANC). Again, some hero ya got there.

And if Mandela had any moral authority at all, why was Winnie allowed to remain in the leadership of the ANC after being even more brutal than Nelson in the torture and murder of political opponents. The ends justifies the means. Years of terror softened the opposition and they came around easily to the ANC once Mandela got back to business. Lesson learned: terrorize your enemy, get what you want. Just don't fool yourself into thinking you can actually run a fair and prosperous country. They have neither the intelligence or the ability. They stole the power and the wealth, that was the end game. Screw the rest of the country. There are just the communists and "the people".

Go ahead Jane. Instead of name calling, make your case. How did the murder of innocent men, women, and children (mostly black South Africans) make South Africa a better place? At what point would you say terrorist acts are necessary and loss of innocent lives are just collateral damage?

I guess you believe everything you see on TV and think that none of this happened. Or maybe you are pretty hardcore and planning on doing some "necklacing" of your own...

Whoa dude! My name is jeb and it is my job to try to mitigate all the unintended misunderstandings on this forum. First off, "Jane" was obviously responding to the general topix question ""who do you support .."- hence the David Duke reply. If she had been replying to your ignorant, rambling racist nonsense, then you would have seen your stupid post quoted followed by her reply- hope this helps!

Wow, you are so noble and honorable.

I would have indeed seen my quote in her response if she had replied to my post in the proper manner, but if you have been around this site very long, you might have seen that many, maybe even most folks just post something, oftentimes several posts on down the line, creating confusion as to just what the hell they are talking about or to whom. Note that I did not respond to her by calling her a name back, but asked her to defend her position as I perceived it based on her post.

How bout you, big boy. Can you tell me how a murderer becomes a saint? What do you know about the situation that you didn't see on TV? Having known two black South Africans who left in the early 1990s, I have a little insight and don't think they would have lied to me. My own research seems to back up what they told me.

Maybe Jane didn't call me a name and I did not attempt to insult her. You can call my reply ignorant, but as far as I can see you know nothing about the man other than what you have been told on the boob tube. I haven't told any lies. You just call posts ignorant and offer no facts to prove otherwise.

As to the rest of your statement, this post has been off topic since the election of 2010. It shouldn't even be here anymore.

I started to ask you why in your mind helping people who need help and helping old people who need help is not the same. To you one is socialism the other is not. Truth is neither is, unless compassion for other humans is socialism. Sounds more like God at work to me.......
If you had a brain to go along with your mouth we could talk about the issue, you don't. You sir are one of the most clueless. bigoted, brainwashed humans on the planet. So you have accomplished something with your pitiful life full of misunderstanding and hate, congrats.

I see the rambling man and Card Player is pontificating again about other folks who he knows nothing about, but keeps insisting he is a guru of some sort……..

Some folks need help dummy, whether Old or not, whether rich or poor…..and you don’t seem capable of telling the difference how each one need or get that help…..Socialism is a political point of view, based on what is yours, it belongs to everyone….
It has nothing to do with empathy or compassion, it’s all about control by some governing authority……

Only in the mind of a socialist does one equate socialism with God……do you even know that Jesus himself said “leave the woman alone, she is doing me a favor by anointing me, for the poor you will always have with you.”
So Mr bright angel, tell us where you come up with the idea to equate socialism with God or Christianity??????????

Let’s look closely at the socialists liberals idea of governing…..and their ideas about humanity…..
1. The gubmint will care for your physical needs via distribution of wealth, i.e., even the playing field to ensure everyone receives nearly equal health care, ability to purchase on a equal footing, have access to nearly equal housing, purchasing power, etc.
2. Ensure people are dependent on handouts by the gubmint for their livelihood,
3. Gubmint will provide birth control, abortion assistance, and financial assistance whenever needed.
4. Gubmint will ensure no Religiion, except gubmint religion, is allowed in any gubmint funded operation, excepting gubmint operations like the House , Senate, and the Supremes courting ritual..…
5. Gubmint promoting homosexuality as a normal lifestyle, making laws to allow homosexual marriage, and allowing homosexuals to adopt children, among other things.
6. Socialists beliefs and promoting of atheism, which is a religion in and of itself….did you know they now have what they call “churches for atheists.” And many more, too many to list…….

Also I can see your sorry Cards you play with, so your game is lost before you begin. You have the following cards to play with….The race card, the God card, the gun control card, the homosexual card, the union card, and some others I wont tell you about, as this is a 5 card game between us…….

Basically you are a Smarm, and I am a Snark……..
Snark is often conflated with cynicism, which is a misreading of intent and purpose. Snark may speak in cynical terms about a cynical world, but it is not cynicism itself. It is a theory of cynicism.
The practice of cynicism is Smarm.

Smarm lacks any redeeming value, whereas snark, wielded correctly, can pierce a veil of power. And since that power is often shielding either mediocrity or outright evil, that makes snark a necessity, whereas smarm is garbage.

Gotta hand it to these climate folks, they go out on a rotten limb nearly every day, and most days that limb breaks off the tree.......and climate believers just keep on making like they know what's gonna happen years down the road, they have what I call a crystal ball full of smoke and mirrors produced by too much gubmint funds......and a belief in more gubmint money to see them through the thick and thin until their retirement....

It's good to remind everyone how much we are taxed, overall.

Adding more; the fees and surcharges on utility services.

Yeah, and fees sound better than taxes, and surcharges are for providing the service....
They have yet to come up with how to get more money based on charging for the fees + surcharges + tax......most likely will be called "additional charges for letting us live in a socialist country." and your money is our money.....I do need to travel to all these seminars to tell me how to get more from you.....of course at taxpayer expense.....while staying at the 10 star hotels and eating $200 dinners.....and flying first class..........with limo service.....

Only in the current backwards mentality is this even considered. I just wonder how long it is going to take before this country collapses under its own stupid weight."
