What is not democracy is when some one wins and the minority lies, distorts facts, makes a pact to make the elected President fail at all cost and tries to derail affordable health care for the majority by not funding a law that is legally the "law of the land" and was proven to be "constitutional" by the Supreme Court, he highest Court in the land and that was Majority Republicans. Now the Republican party has flown their "kami-kazi" mission and failed they are soon doomed as being the "party of cry babies" and the "party of NO" and also the party that "used to be".

You were going along pretty good, and then stumbled on the cornerstone, "affordable health care for the majority."

I dont know anything about blairsville hospital versus health departments but if it's anything like here in toccoa then severals things pop out where libroids minds fell to venture....
Like for instance, health departments are totally supported by tax dollars, and hospitals are not.....a clear case of a libroid mind which cant grasp the significance of the difference...
so ramble on in your dream libroid world, and keep hoping for healthcare nirvana.. When you find it, please tell us about it because Obamacare is NOT it...
Funny thing, the hospital is owned by the county that's also supported by tax dollars. The health department charges for the services provided, unless the person can't pay and needs the service, just like the hospitals do.

Since you are so knowledgeable please tell me why I can negotiate a better deal, 20% better, in 5 minutes on the phone with a person in the billing department at the hospital than Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia, the largest insurer in the state.

Also please tell me,now what heath insurance companies are required by law to spend at least 85% of premiums paid on care or give the insured a refund, none have gone bankrupt. That's been the law and insurance companies have given refunds on this years business.

I am not a liberal or a conservative, but part of what's left of the people in the middle, not caring for either side. So if you can type without calling people names you think are derogatory please do. I am waiting for your answer, the question is will it come?? And if it does will it make any sense?? Saying ObamaCare is not it, that's someone's opinion and is not an answer to any question, so don't use that.

Truth is he said he would not negotiate the new "Affordable Health Care Law" which was already passed by the Senate, House, President and found Constitutional by the US Supreme Court. Funding it is a must thing to doo and they will. Wait and see. It is the law of the land and can only be changed through the election process. Problem for the Republicans is they and now spilt into two parties and are severely damaged goods. Can't get elected and can't change the laws if not elected because people won't vote them in. So may as well give it up and let America win.

So this is a prediction for 2014 doo-doo?

Interesting that you are so excited about having a one party system. Shows how ignorant and government dependent you are.

I wonder why they all are so afraid of telling us about their signing up for obamacare???????

Maybe because they cant get the website to work for them...I mean they should be able to see the true costs without jumping through hoops of telling a website their life story...

You've got a real logical fallacy going on here.

You're presenting the worst of something as being indicative of the whole thing.

There are over 7 billion people on this planet. Many of them are as stupid as a box of rocks, as you yourself might be painful aware of.

No matter what position you choose to hold, you'll find somebody that's freaking idiotic to trot out as an example of why you hold that position. It's easy, because so many people are idiots.

However - Those examples might be entertaining to you - and go both ways - they have relatively little - to absolutely nothing - to do with reality and the real issues.

There are 7 billion people on the planet. You'll find whatever it is you're looking for. That doesn't mean everybody is that way.

For example - If I presented Paul Braun as an example of all Republicans, the world would probably consider it an act of kindness to open hunting season on Republicans. Luckily, not ALL of them are that stupid.

You're presenting a logical fallacy. Not even a clever one. Got it?

Time for a new Outrage de Jour...

Bottom line at World War II Memorial: Honor Flight organizer says 'We've had no problems at all'
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/10/16/1247...

The kinda sorta closing of the World War II Memorial has provided a lot of fodder for Republican outrage. Outrage that, let's not forget, stems from the government shutting things down after Republicans shut the government down. But as reports have emerged that, for all the posturing in front of barricades supposedly people keeping out, veterans are actually visiting the memorial without problems, it's worth asking: What effect is it actually having on veterans?

“We’ve had no problems at all,” said Jim McLaughlin, a lead organizer for the Honor Flight Network, the nonprofit group drawn into the dispute when several GOP lawmakers accompanied its guests during their first visit to the memorial hours after the shutdown started.

While Republicans have continued to argue that the monument is closed — images and video of the lawmakers with the visiting veterans quickly became the B-roll on the shutdown’s first day — McLaughlin said in an interview that his group has been able to bring several hundred more veterans to see the site since Oct. 1.

This is probably not what Rep. Darrell Issa is looking to be told in his Wednesday hearing on why the shutdown shut down parks, but sometimes when you manufacture outrage over a non-issue, people eventually do realize that's what you did....

Well Ugly Eve, since our last posts, I researched Union General Hospital...

First off you are wrong from the get go, it is not owned by Union county government. It is a non-profit corporation operating under the moniker Union General Hospital...under a Board of Directors…
Most rural hospitals start off depending on gubmint funds, but usually become self-sufficient and no longer need tax dollars. There are some that are still totally dependent on tax dollars, as in Grady Hospital in Atlanta, but then again in most cases they are inner city hospitals.
Any rural hospital needing tax dollars after 15-20 in business are poorly managed by an incompetent board of directors. Union General appears to have a good board to maintain their independence…

County tax dollars does NOT support the hospital...I found one item where county government has a contract with the hospital to provide funds to assist with the cost of ambulance service, as most ambulance services are county tax payer funded in rural areas...

And everyone can negotiate directly with most any hospital, so you are not special in that regard.. BTW, most hospital charges are higher in order to drag up the low reimbursements from insurance companies, including Medicare and Medicaid. FYI: Medicare only pays between 40 to 60% of prevailing charges, hence the higher cost charged by doctors and hospitals. Medicaid pays even less, which explains why few doctors accept Medicaid and most hospitals lose on Medicaid patients..

Individuals, like yourself, are a godsend to hospitals and doctors when they can collect from you, even with a 20% reduction on the bill.
FYI:: there are some Hospitals Corporations now buying up poorly run Hospitals, in order to turn them into a money-making enterprise. They even sell stock on the market…..

Most of the rest of your argument is a straw man argument, which I refuse to respond too.
I will say this about Obamacare, if you take the bronze plan it will only pay 60% of rate charges similar to Medicare and Medicaid, so you will still owe 40%.
Take an example of a hospital stay that may cost $100,000 for a major stay. Obamacare may negotiate a fee of $70,000. Obamacare will pay 60% of $70k which is $42k, which leaves you owning $28k, which will not be negotiable.
And the Obamacare plan will probably charge you around $200 up to around $850 a month, according to your financial situation. Can you even afford the $200 or $850 a month???
Can you even pay your 40% upfront?? or later??
And lastly, why are you so readily dependent on others to pay your bills??? the subsidy provided by Obamacare. If you are not a democrat as you say.
Why not just get free emergency care as you can today, if you are poor??
