And another little item, the military is short on Catholic priests, so many installations have civilian priests on contract. Despite being furloughed, many have volunteered to serve with no expectation of pay so their parishioners will not be left without being able to observe Mass or take part in the sacraments. They are subject to arrest should they try to minister to their parishioners. Is that logical to anyone? No, it is just another example of the Obama administration trying to make this as painful as possible for as many as possible.

"New Air Force cargo planes fly straight into mothballs"

This is shameful and a disgrace. The Obama administration is telling Americas that all they are good for is to fight and die for whatever he wants us to die and fight for, and to pay taxes to push his socialist agendas.

They bought his line that he just needed a little more time to straighten things out. Well he has more time and what has he done? The people now see what he really is and are very remorseful how they were fooled into giving him a second chance and a second term. They see high unemployment, wars and threats of wars, scandals, a poor economy , a shrinking standard of living for the middle class, total lack of government transparency, a uncontrollable national debt, and total incompetence. I think just maybe the American people have finally caught on. At least I hope so.

Politicians love to say let's stop the waste - unless it somehow benefits my backyard. And the sad thing is that it really would cost more to cancel the contract than to just accept delivery and mothball the aircraft. If the government "terminated for convenience", Joe Taxpayer could conceivably end up paying more to the contractor for "termination costs" and end up paying for nothing. If the contract is fulfilled at least "we" end up with something to show for it.(I'm not defending the contract, I'm just acknowledging the reality of an existing contract that probably should never have been signed in the first place.)

Yes, I posted this story two days ago, and Chicken Butt naturally chimed in and called me a liar. I refused to reply to his sorry lying post as I knew the truth would soon be out. Thanks for posting this story again as it is important for the people to see just what is going on.

Don't have to, the Senate did their job. held a vote and sent back a Clean CR to the House.
For five years the senate has been derelict with Harry in charge.
The cr is not a budget, it's a gimmick used to hide the real budget.

you may right, Dave. And if you are, the next logical step would seem to be that the republicans should nominate an electable candidate in 2016- but the way things look now, we may not even have a country left then.

Here is a neat list of some of the things that have been shut down due to the Partial government shutdown. It sure makes Obama look petty.

If the government can force you to buy Obamacare then I guess it can confiscate your savings account and force you to buy shares in a bank that is failing. I keep warning you Topix readers about this happening in the U.S, but so far you seem to have no fear. Best open your eyes.

Oops, I just skimmed to try and catch up. Didn't mean to be redundant, but it is illustrative to point out how little our sevice personnels' First Amendment right to practice their religion means to this administration.

However, the list, unfortunately, is not needed to make the POTUSA petty, is it?

I am glad that you posted it. Nothing to feel bad about. Seems as not too many people thought much about it when I posted it. If I have posted something and you think it important and it has not gotten enough of a response then by all means post your own. We are here to kill some time, but also to inform with truth.

It's very disappointing to know that people actually support Obama using these "thug" tactics. He seems to have no moral compass. He's ruthless. His minions are too spaced out to know that he would step on THEIR necks to get what he wants. Yeah. He cares.

So you think the Republicans are holding the country hostage because THEY won the game. You really need to check the score.

The real issue is with the lack of direction and the petty politics the conservatives are taking we the people are the only losers.
