We can make all the excuses up about these fires we want, but I think many of these are being set by Muslims. I hope I am wrong, but if I am right our government will never admit it. It is easier to lie about it. They seem to be really good at it.
I heard them say they were planning to destroy America using hurricanes, tornadoes, and the use of "instant replay" in Major League Baseball.

They originally plotted to install lights at Wrigley Field,
(after Mohamed Mohammed heard the Statler Brothers song),
but have up when they learned the Tribune Company had abandoned all that was Holy and already installed the evil things.

It was late last night and I forgot to make one other point to make about the Federal Government being responsible fighting forest fires, which you disagreed with as usual.
Many of these fires are on Federally owned lands, so why shouldn't the government fight these fires?
Lets see you answer to that one.
Forest fires are a necessary part in the life of natural forests - they rejuvenate the forest by clearing the underbrush.

The only reason we fight them is to protect those damn socialist who use my national forest for their private homes.

So now the damn federal government steals my hard-earned money to buy forest land a continent away from me, so I can't use it even if I wanted to; them let's other people benefit from my money by building homes in land I paid for, and now it steals even more of my money to protect those trespassing socialists' homes, and actually harming the forest I paid for while doing it.

Ah... Socialism - it's a great thing when it benefits me, when it benefits you..... Not so much.

Slow down fella, your hysterical ranting will blow another gasket. I have a pic in mind to describe your hysterical face. See it here.
http://us.cdn4.123rf.com/168nwm/phakimata/pha...

And you purposely left off the last of my statement...”Without Christianity there would be no Constitution, because honest men recognize the inherent God given rights of man."
I should have said "no Constitution as written."

A quick flight thru History will have to suffice, as a complete book will not do on topix.

The names have changed, but the Game is the Same.
Beginning with Plato’s “Republic,” moving on to More’s “Utopia,” up to Hobbes “Leviathan,” and to Marx & Engels “Communist “Manifesto.”

Contrast the above with the Teachings of Jesus to see which prevail in the politics of today.

Plato, More, Hobbes, and Marx& Engels all put forth the same idea, but called it different names. The idea is sold as a way to a Utopian style of government, but in reality is an oppressive style of government. A community consisting of those who produce and those who govern, which strips away the incentive and desire of the populace, replacing it with “duty to the government is duty to your fellow man.” A system of government which closes itself off from other countries, forbids free thought by its citizens, and a classification of each citizen into a production bee or a governing bee.

Of the four, only Marx’s & Engels Manifesto came into being, but not as envisioned by Marx.
Communism has now shown itself as a complete failure. Russia no longer uses it. China still rules with it, but now capitalism is king in China and many of its citizens are now clamoring for more open government, speech, and free thought. North Korea is a basket case.

And now we move to the Enlightenment period beginning with Martin Luther, and including all the free thinkers of Europe, Christian and non-Christian.
From the free thinkers of Europe and America, we are beholding to the words put into our Constitution, not from Islam, Buddhism, Confucius or any other non-European Religious thoughts, but from Christian thoughts and teachings.

While Christianity came out of the dark ages, beginning around 1500 A.D., Islam, a religion beginning in the 7th Century A.D., is still mired in the dark ages. All one need do is look at the Middle East and see a similitude today with the dark ages of the Christian Catholic Church.
Luther, Zwingli, Calvin, and others lit the fire for a reformation of the existing Church. The Reformation was caught up in politics; example the English Civil War which established Protestantism as the State Religion.
While the U.S. Constitution included input from non-religious persons such as Jefferson, the vast majority were Christians of different faiths. The very First Amendment was to protect Religious beliefs from government interference and put a restraint on the Federal government in regards to Religion. The founding Fathers did NOT want a State Religion such as England had. Religion was so important to the founding Fathers that the very First Amendment addressed the issue.
Most of those who wrote the Constitution were Christians of one sect or another. Even Jefferson himself, while not a church goer or Christian, often expressed his opposition to clergy and to Christian doctrines; but yet Jefferson repeatedly expressed his belief in a deistic God and his admiration for Jesus as a moral teacher.

You misinterpret my post, thinking I am saying the founding Fathers created the Constitution from Christian teachings; while I say the founding Fathers USED the Christian teachings as a framework to establish man’s equality, freedoms, and rights as a human being to live under and be covered by the new laws of society that America has set as a standard for the Nations of Earth.

I stand by my statement,“The Constitution came as close as man can come to fulfilling the Ideals expressed by the Bible as we know it today. The Constitution was an effort, by man, to instill the ideals of Christianity established by Jesus, who fulfilled the Old Testament Law, given to man by God.” And I will add “The Morals of right and wrong, the equality of man in the eyes of God taught by the Christian Church found their way into the Constitution by way of Christian believers who helped write the document.”
A paraphrase of Jefferson,“Truth has its own legs to stand on; it has no need of help from human endeavors to explain it.”

Reminding us that we don't have the legal authority to fly around the world bombing wherever we want, whenever we want, killing whoever we want - seems pretty reasonable to me.

I'm sure we might be somewhat annoyed if the government of Syria indicated it intended to commit an act of war and bomb America.

Oh wait... we're exceptional ... only we get to kill people we decide we don't like- that afternoon anyway.

It's damn embarrassing when Russia has more respect for international law, more respect for the sovereignty of nations, and even more respect for the Constitution than America.

Try again, I said nothing about sanctioning an official religion, my point was the nature of those governments hostile to religion. However, while recognizing that a "state religion" was not the ideal, most of the founders were religious men - some Christian, some Deist, some Theist - most all knew the folly of ignoring the logical conclusion that there was a Creator.

Please do one of two things:
1. Point out where I advocate the sanction of an official religion, as you claimed when you responded:
"Yeah, who could imagine what mere humans could do without sanctioning an official religion."
2. Apologize for mischaracterizing (lying) about my post.-- Yeah, that'll happen.
====
Keep on dreaming that the Founders' intent was to form a secular government. You really do not want to go there because I can fill up this thread with quotes from our Founders that prove the exact opposite. Their wisdom in not establishing a State religion is only trumped by their belief that a recognition of our dependence on a Creator would keep this country strong and "good."
"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens..... Let it simply be asked: Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice ? And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle."
from George Washington's Farewell Address to the Nation

We'll all be waiting.
And these are the answers that Jesus gave us:
1) The Paramount Importance of Liberality toward the Needy :
{ Matthew 19:16, 21-26 }
When a man of some means came to Jesus with this crucial question: "Good Master, what must I do to have eternal life and happiness?
[ Jesus told him that he must begin by obeying the ten commandments. But, then...]
"If you want to be perfect, go and sell everything you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me." But when the young man heard this, he went away sadly, for he was very rich.
; ... Then Jesus said to his disciples, "It is almost impossible for a rich man to get into the Kingdom of Heaven. I say it again – it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God!
Notice, however, that Jesus doesn't say "destroy your wealth". They are mistaken who believe that Jesus viewed possessing things as evil. If he did, it would have be wrong from him to recommend that the rich divest themselves of evil things in order to encumber poor people with those evils. No he wanted the rich to give "goods" to the poor because they had too few of them, while the rich had more too many of them.
{ Luke 16:13-15}
" No slave can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth." The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all this, and they ridiculed him. So he said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of others; but God knows your hearts; for what is prized by human beings is an abomination in the sight of God."
{ Luke 14:33-35}
So therefore, none of you can become my disciple if you do not give up all your possessions. Salt is good; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; they throw it away. Let anyone with ears to hear listen!"
{Luke 12:15-21}
And he said to them, "Take care! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions."
We can't wait to read the spin that turns this bleeding heart liberal into a Right Winger.

Post shows this DUMMY doesn't read yesterdays postings, but does live in the year 2006 while Bush is still president.
