Insurance costs are already skyrocketing. Over the past 25 years, my own have quadrupled, and that is with a big company. If big companies are facing increasing costs, what is happening to the costs for the self employed, or those with small companies? What is wrong with paying for our own healthcare individually if we need to? I have been doing that for 25 years, because of my own unique situation. I make it a priority to pay it, regardless of other bills. I need access to it. I just believe all need to get ACCESS to healthcare at an affordable price. There are self employed folks who are paying double what I pay. That does nothing to helping to start a business, and in this economy we need to be encouraging more to start businesses. Requiring healthcare will help reduce our welfare rolls, and encourage self employment. That should be a "conservative's dream".
The better answer, IMO, is based on much of what you said. Employers should not be in the business of offering healthcare at all. Prior to WWII, people were responsible for their own healthcare. When FDR put price freezes on wages, employers started offering healthcare as a way to attract employees while not breaking the wage cap - another unintended consequence of govt inference. As a result, now that most healthcare is offered by employers it is difficult for individuals and the self employed to find affordable insurance. They don't have the negotiating power of the big employers and the rates that are set by the insurance company are set high as a negotiating tool with the big employers. There is a place for limited government regulation - and this would be one of them, again IMO. Take employers out of the healthcare business, put it back in the hands of the individuals, make insurance companies compete for the business. AND have individuals get back in the mindset of paying for their own office visits, prescriptions, etc. and let health insurance go back to covering what they were originally intended for - catastrophic illness and accident. And watch healthcare costs plummet.

Thanks for the "Upgrade".
I used to be a "pervert", now I just have "perverted leanings".
Have you ever considered why Right Wing Wackos become so vehemently angry when informed that those with a few bucks, education, and influential contacts, explain to them that the system is rigged against those without a few bucks, education, and influential contacts..
Why do Right Wingers, when informed that union membership leads to higher wages, better benefits, pensions, and job security, become angry with the union members, instead of working to form and maintain a union to better their own lives.
A psychologist friend of mine says its because they are jealous and insecure, and psychologically it's easier to demand others' lives be harmed, as opposed to accepting responsibility to improve their own.
What do you think ?
I scanned this one. I do that from time to time.
Ask your psychologist "friend"(You should be keeping him pretty busy.) why unions are going the way of the dinosaurs. The answer to that will explain why you are so angry. Right wingers refuse to be held hostage any more. Also, the unreasonable union demands have pushed jobs OUT of our country. So, thanks for THAT. You libroids refuse to hold yourselves responsible for what has happened. That's okay. The rest of us know the truth.(pssssst......if others were jealous of unions, they wouldn't be on their way OUT. There would be more people clammering to join.)

Now, you're just being silly.
Let's see, a State Legislature enacts a law giving transgender people equal access and you're saying that a college did not hold any meetings or discussions on how to implement and comply with the law on their campus, nor did these meetings result in a policy that all departments could follow.
Again, the locker room incident that has you up in arms sounds like a breakdown in communication between the adults at the college who were in charge of leasing the recreational facilities to the high school, and the adults who were in charge of the high school swim team.
Course, this does nothing to fuel your outrage.
So tell me what difference any policy meetings would have made. Swim teams need pools to practice in. The state enacted a policy that, as usual, has consequences that apparently legislators weren't intelligent or far sighted enough to easily anticipate. Any pool would be subject to these same regulations (or face litigation) so where are the options for the swim teams - answer -no where, if the school can't afford its own pool that it can control. I don't know about you, but I don't know many schools that can afford to have pools. So I guess your answer would be then don't have a swim team if you can't handle the locker room?
But it really doesn't matter what logical objections are put forward on this. You have no problem with a grown man parading around in the nude in front of little girls - trust me, we get it.

More damn Anti-American terrorists protesting our brave and brilliant President and Commander-in-Chief elected by a majority of Americans using their God-given right to vote.
We are at war man ! At war !
This is treason !
Next time President Obama should just send a drone by with a few Hellfire Missiles and blow those Anti-American democracy hating, protestors to their North Korean land of their dreams.
Right Wingers - "Syn", "Who", "What", "When", "Where" and "How", and "Sometimes W" - have taught us - Real Americans don't challenge authority, don't reveal government secrets about government's illegal and Unconstitutional conduct, and above all, don't challenge the right of the government to bomb, kill, kidnap and torture.
Only traitorous bastards do that.
How odd that you support the right of the Communist party to protest but don't give the same right to other Americans. Are you for the killing of all Americans that didn't vote for Obama or those that voted for another candidate? Seems to me that all are fall under the same category.
Could you be terribly confused?
Since I am here I will comment on an earlier post of yours that claimed all right wingers loved George Bush. I didn't love him and I didn't like him as president either. There were many conservatives that were not crazy about Bush.
Remember I am not a Republican, and have some different views than some of my comrade conservative buddies. But my differences are mostly minor.

Oh yes, split the Right Wing vote as the GOP civil war continues.
The Republican party is now full of RINO's and is weak and timid. In my book it seems to stand for nothing. As soon as the Republican politicians are elected they go hide and do not follow through with their promises that they made to their constituents. All they do is talk but accomplish and stand for nothing.
The Democrats have an agenda, sorry as it is,that they stand up for. They literally fight to forward their agenda. We may not like their ideas and the way they go about things but at least they have enough intestinal fortitude to stand for something.

It's apparent that other jurisdictions have implemented workable solutions even prior to their state enacting any law (see LA County Unified School District).

Again, it's real simple, the college accommodates transgenders in their recreation facilities, now they question becomes why the high school swim team was not aware of this, it's obvious that there was a communications breakdown.

"You have no problem with a grown man parading around in the nude in front of little girls - trust me, we get it."

This is another of your strawmen.

You have to read this article about the link in Obamacare and immigration reform. If you think these socialists don't know how to put the fix on things, then think again.
