He was my 5th grade teacher about 8 years ago. My mother also thought he was gay. He was very friendly w/ the girls and the boys in the class always commented on his obvious favoritism. He was touchy and said uncomfortable things. He talked to many of us on AOL. At the time I just thought he was a good teacher but now I feel creeped out by his actions in the classroom.

Yes, this is a serious crime but the law is unjust. This man is being held without bail. He has no pryor offense, this girl was not innocent in all of this. And the bias of the media is disgusting.

The law says the girl is not old enough to consent. Until she was contacted by this man, she was innocent. Please provide me with an example of media that shows bias. From my point of view, I only continue to see information which indicates he is being treated much too fairly. Was it fair to destroy this girl & her family's lives? Until you see the destruction created here, I don't think you can judge.

I have daughters and John better be glad that it wasn't one of mine in this mess. You thought he was a good guy because he was a good con man. To College Friend...shame on you for that harsh and incredibly naive statement.
I knew John too and thought he was an ok guy, but he was also a strange, wimpy guy too.
15 years old is not old enough to know better in any case, she is a minor! and has developemental issues if she has mild autism. Easy target for someone who wants to take advantage of the situation.
CAll this what it is...an adult who should've known better but didn't and now thankfully has to pay the high price for his stupid actions.

I had Mr.Monetti as a principal in Dickinson Avenue Elementary and we had these really good dirt jumps in the woods and he tore them down he should go to jail for that and doing what he did to that girl Monetti also expelled my friend from the school he was a horoble fat principal and he was a fool he fooled all of us but Mr.Monetti don't come back here because your rep is ruined
