The Brucetonn Volunteer Fire Department, Hollow Rock / Twin Cities Volunteer Fire Department and Vale Volunteer Fire Department did a fine job at the house fire in Bruceton (Hemlock Street) on the evening of Sunday, November 9th.
Unfortunately for the homeowner, the fire was fully involoved even with the quick response time of all Fire Departments. Protecting surrounding structures/homes was successful...even with the extrememly high heat which melted blinds inside of a neighbors home. The home which was caught fire quickly became an inferno, and was extinguished as quickly as possible by Firefighters.
We appreciate the hard, dangerous work of our Volunteer Firefighters in Bruceton, Hollow Rock, Vale and all of Carroll County. We are safer as a community knowing we have these brave Volunteers who are willing to do their part on a moments notice.
Thank you to all Firefighters who responded.

It was a sad thingto hear about the house fire at 105 Hemlock, Bruceton. At one time the home belonged to my grandmother, Mrs Ruth Wilson. I lived in that house for several years and spent my summer vacations there. I can close my eyes and see the house still. Thankfully I have some photos of my former home to show my children, and grandchildren. The house may be gone, but the memories still live on.
