There are some good restaurants if you like fish/steak and or buffet, or meat and 3 type establishments. Down Home is really good for the meat and 3 plate luch type meal and very reasonably priced; they also have a decent breakfast menu. Catfish Place lives up to its' name for fish and on some days the buffet is pretty good; they also have a good breakfast menu. Country & Western has great fish/steaks and has a good buffet as well; no breakfast served. 1890's Restaurant is a good all around and is open at night; check their hours. The new cafe on the square is really trying but I really can't comment due to I have only eaten there once. Cowboys..haven'eaten there, tried once but their buffet was empty and we couldn't get seated so we left.
Hope this helps you. You can find a decent meal for the price, although some of the restaurants just aren't consostent..give them a try and sponsor our County's taxbase...we need it.

It's just a matter of what you like I suppose. Their refried beans are fine with me; I never considered them watered down.
The food is Mexican authentic as I've found here in the states, huge servings and their prices are very good for what you get and the service is great too.

I didn't mean to leave out Goodwings or Craig's Pizza..both are topnotch. I thought they were specifically looking at more mainstream eateries. Give Goodwings and Craig's a try..they are super for what they offer!!

Best steak and pork chops right now are at the Big T restaurant that used to be the country club. Steaks are thick and tender. Oh and the shrimp is great too.

dude you need to get out more. "Authentic -- in the states" They are NOT. You can even ask Eric who works their. They dont even have Albondigas soup, no tripe, no tongue, no Ceviche, no tomatillo sauce and their "Carne Asada" is just steak. And where the hell is the cilantro, onion, in the tomato sauce style "salsa" it is just one step up from taco bell. Re fried beans are not suppose to "spill" out of you spoon. You would better going to Charlotte pike in Nashville, near street 40 and eat off one of those trucks. That is getting a little better.

I don't think you have had authentic Mexican food because it's no where near how you describe it. Have you ever even been outside TN? STFU

Have been several times and I do know authentic Mexican food. They are the closest I have had to authentic cuisine.
