Wow, seems to me that establishing a monopoly is agains the federal laws of the United States. Looks like the powers to be are trying to monopolize the information that goes out just like the mainstream media has for some years now. Just what America needs, more lying liberal BS on the airways.

I dont have to source my material you stupid dumbass! It is common knowledge in every high school history class that monopolies are against the law in the US, I used THE INFORMATION THAT YOU PROVIDED in most cases to come up with other numbers and information, isnt your information used good enough for you, or was it only good at the time and not any good when I use it? Carry on you idotic fool, every post that you put up is just more ammo for any that want to refute. Your sources are so suspect and biased and one dimensional that you are blind to the truth.

DOWN THE ROAD
Acura teams with XM satellite for driving weather forecasts
Dave Van Sickle
Thursday, July 31, 2008

While driving have you ever wished you could also see the same kind of weather information you can get with just a click of a mouse on your home computer?
Theoretically you can with a laptop that has the right hardware and software to connect to a cellular-based wireless network. But who wants to haul along a laptop that can't be operated safely by the driver? Thanks to XM Radio, there is a better way to find out what kind of weather you're driving into.
XM Satellite Radio is offering XM NavWeather, the first nationwide in-vehicle, real-time satellite weather tracking service for automotive GPS navigation systems. This revolutionary combination of GPS navigation and real-time weather information is now available on the 2009 Acura RL and TSX and will soon be offered on the all-new TL.
XM NavWeather works as part of the Acura Navigation system to display weather conditions via color weather icons or easy-to-read detailed graphical warning signals on the vehicle's navigation screen. It uses sophisticated XM "Threat Matrix" technology to track detailed nationwide weather data, which is then scaled and customized for the driver's specific location and route.
The service can alert drivers to severe weather conditions on their exact route before they drive into them, giving the driver the opportunity to route around a storm's path or find a safe haven to ride out the storm. It not only informs the driver of current and forecasted weather and hazardous road conditions, but also atmospheric conditions such as rain, sleet, snow, wind, fog, precipitation intensity and National Weather Service warnings. One- and three-day city weather forecasts are also provided.
"XM NavWeather is the only service that uses predictive technology to track threats and let drivers know about severe weather and road conditions before they happen," said Steve Cook, executive vice president, Automotive XM Satellite Radio.

Aug. 19, 2008
NEW YORK, Aug 19, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/-- SIRIUS XM Radio (SIRI:1.47,+0.07,+5.0%) announced that it will offer comprehensive live coverage from the 2008 Democratic and Republican National Conventions.

SIRIUS Convention Radio will offer listeners a unique opportunity to "live" the convention experience. SIRIUS Convention Radio will also revisit key moments of convention history with insight and reflections by members of both the Democratic and Republican Convention committees, and SIRIUS hosts and former convention participants Senator Bill Bradley and Ron Silver. In addition SIRIUS will give voice to voters across the country with the People's Podium -- listeners will record their own brief political speeches to be broadcast on the channel.
SIRIUS Convention Radio En Espanol will provide real-time Spanish-language translation of every speech, plus replays of each day's events. The Spanish-language broadcast from the Democratic National Convention will be provided by Comcast.
"This marks a tremendous step forward to ensure all Americans can fully participate in this year's historic Democratic National Convention and in our democratic process," said 2008 Democratic National Convention Co-Chair and Texas State Senator Leticia Van de Putte. "We applaud what SIRIUS is doing to bring listeners across the country in to the Convention experience and in particular its efforts to offer a bilingual simulcast for the more than 35 million Americans who speak Spanish."
Maria Cino, President and CEO of the 2008 Republican National Convention, said, "We look forward to welcoming to St. Paul SIRIUS and the hundreds of other media outlets that will help bring the 2008 Republican National Convention into millions of homes across America and around the world. It will be an historic event as Sen. John McCain accepts our party's nomination and springboards into the general election."
