I think what some people are missing here is that if the Arms leaves, the tax projections in the merger study get shot to hell. A ton of tax money comes from the Arms. It may not affect the promised aid, if that aid comes and in the amount promised, but the tax levy in the two school study is projected to be $8 million (in comparison, Mohawk's levy is at $1 million right now). Supposedly the extra money is going to be made up by the promised aid, but that burden gets a whole lot worse if the Arms moves out of state.

I can't believe that posters from Frankfort and Herkimer are now concerned what Ilion-Mohawk does with the merger vote. You already got what you wanted, Frankfort with NO spring sports and Herkimer will likely soon vote to do away with all sports and loose programs/positions.

Yes, you did your kids well and let your inflated ego's rule, you lied to others about the facts to get people to vote no. History shows that when people disagree with issues, there is always a group that comes up with some "conspiracy theory".

Right now people fron Herkimer and Frankfort should be concentrating on how they will educate their own children with reduced resources and not what happens in Mohawk and Ilion.

Arms is going nowhere. Regardless, schools are not dependent on the Arms.

If they were to leave, getting the aid now is clearly the financial call. That's a fact. Other than that the Arms leaving has no bearing on merger talks.

That's where you are wrong, i was at the meeting that this thread is reffering too. What Mr. Tangorra said is the Arms pays 1.4% of the school taxes received and if the merger goes throught hat drops to .8%. their contribution to school taxes is not that large. The money from the incentive aide is what is being used to equalize the tax base. If the Arms does leave, which no one wants to happen, people may also leave, but they will not be able to sell their homes, so will still be paying taxes on them.

I love you idiots I really do watching all of you as Frankfort dropped and then you had victory in your grasp in Herkimer and then boom you lost Herkimer and then we have the speedy corrupt I have friends in state ed vote... because Mohawk gee wizz they wanted it so badly it was like 800% to 20% and Ilion always supports the mergers. Sure thing sure thing sure thing. Now Mohawk will slip painfully out of your grasps too and the only gift you will have given the Mohawk Valley is hate. That's right pro or against I have enjoyed watching all you idiots quibble and fight while you forget your children and cast them aside to push forward you agendas and greed or your whole big social engineering agenda Mrs. Judd I am looking at you with all due respect you can really move a crowed of mindless followers effectively. Neighbor against neighbor friend and friend. You ready Jackie? You ready Dale? This is going to be fun. Pass or fail I WIN because you morons lost your minds in the process. So where is the phantom mastermind you have been chasing? Where are they? Lets have at it. This will make for a mighty conclusion to Cos the Almighty's thesis. See you on the forums. Pros and Cons lets let it rip

All I can figure is some people have money and are willing to spend it to keep small and declining school systems in operation. The point they're missing is a $100 is a lot to the majority of people. If the one's with cash step up and give the money needed to have a great system, fine. If they expect others to pay big money, it ain't happening.

They should sent their kid to Notre Dame and stop the bullshht. The rest of us can't afford to.

These people are just letting sentimentality get in the way of our future. The public housing being provided for senior citizens is more than acceptable, and if our parents don't like moving there, they're free to buy a house out of the area. They should be happy that they're giving up their homes for the betterment of our public schools.

There's a great example - the Oscar Meyer people have looked into this area for their new packing plant, but the limited availability of land obstructed the deal. We've got the workforce, we just need the land for manufacturing.

You can joke if you wish, with your poor sentence construction, but this is a matter of public policy we're debating, not an outlet for your disturbed world view. Old people will not be harmed under the merger plan, just relocated. It's really quite simple, but clearly you're too damaged a person to see beyond your fetish for harming the elderly.

So now you backpedal and reverse your previous stance of violence against the seniors? Perhaps you now realize that uncivilized viewpoints like your own have no place in public policy. I doubt you've discarded them, but as long as you realize your hatred is unsupported by any of the fine people of this Valley, I've done what I can. Our schools and seniors will merge without your brutishness, and our seniors will enjoy the safety of their new public housing away from your sort.
