There are three contested elections in Westminster this year and I have the distinction of being involved in two of them.

Barack Obama was appointed to the Senate Oversight Committee on Afghanistan. He has used this appointment (not earned) to brag often and drop the name of that country during his sermons. Pretending he has done something. We now know he hasn't done a thing. His excuse for not holding even one meeting of this committee in almost FOURTEEN MONTHS was that he was too busy running a campaign for President. Was I watching that debate answer alone? Anyone who would accept that answer and continue to consider voting for him for even Senator again has certainly got some more thinking to do.

The Audacity is that he showed up for this interview without a proper resume. The Audacity is that he has used his appointments and many other things to pretend he is who he is not. The Audacity is that he has used the voices and words of great people like MLK, JFK and Jefferson - whom he could not hold a candle to - and has pretended they are his own. He is a total pretender. He's running for American Idol. He is quite an actor. I'll give him that much and he can have that prize. But he cannot have this job.

Michelle Obama said that the experience that Barack does not have he will acquire - because "most of it is not rocket science".

Wow! Whew! The wisdom of Michelle Obama. I feel safer already.

She says. "Call back tomorrow, we're not feeling particularly proud of America today - so just let it go to heck. But there are a ton of lapel flag pins in our house that Barack says he would never use. Send a few of those over to the dangerous person. Better yet, call Hillary - that's our first choice for answers. I'm sure she can help you, too.

I am the parent of a 1st grader at the Putney Central School. My experience in education spans 15 years and I have taught at a number of local schools: Neighborhood Schoolhouse, Landmark College, Greenwood School and presently Vermont Academy. Parents and children of Putney are extremely blessed to have such wonderful school in our community. My goal is to help keep the school a vibrant and relevant part of our children's lives.
