I just watched the T.V. show detailing this case. Why didn't the defense make the case stronger against the holster-and-gun-on-the-floor theory? I'm not privy to police evidence; but looking at the photos, it seems like blood should have been on the holster - not just the gun - if it really made the pattern on the carpet. I don't think she had anything to do with this death. I hope she doesn't throw away her "miracle" sentence just to "clear her name". Her boys need her now and they will need her later. Good Luck, Tracy.

I hope those jurors get what they deserve after this verdict.
I wonder do they speak English since most everyone looked Mexican on the show?
If you ever want to murder your spouse just move there, make like you are crying when no tears are coming out of your eyes, make like your voice is breaking, have kids that say they don't want you to go prison and wham you are free as a bird.
Thank you jurors, you deserve an award.

Tracy if you read these posts I hope you outlive those idiot prosecutors who could actuely put a case together so full of holes and speculations.I cannot believe that a jury would convict a person who ,I believe to be completely inncocent, and to watch you on T.V.was totally convinced of your innocence.I am not one to believe the accused very easily.I found your testimony to be totally beleivable.I am a 54 year old MALE and if I thought for 1 instance that you could possibly be quilty I would be the first one to scream for your throat.God bless you and your boys.I will pray for your redemption. You deserve it

forensic evidence and blood spatter patterns can tells us today whether it was a person that shot themselves or if another person did so. forensic evidence can show the ballistics of the bullet, where it entered the brain, the force, and how far away the weapon must of been when fired, and how the weapon might fall.

when in doubt, listen to science. but if none of you were able to listen to the evidence, then don't jump to conclusions that this woman is innocent.

Ang-you are right science can tell us if someone killed themself or in this case if Traci did it. Unfortunately, the forensic scientist in this case(Texas Ranger) either did not look at the science of blood spatter or they negected to put that info in this 48 Hours story. If she did it though when they swabbed all of the drains in her house wouldn't they have some signs of blood? Oh and you can't wash away GSR so if she fired the gun wouldn't there be some on her hands or clothing?

Traci:
I know you want to clear your name. However, please wait until your boys are grown. They need their mom now!
I hope you get a better defense team next time around. What about the additional fingerprint smudge on the gun? Gee whiz... your prints weren't even on the weapon. Something is terribly wrong w/the system here.

i hold no sympathy for her. i think she did it. a couple days after her husbands death she rents a room with her "coworker." very convinient she went out for a run and heard no gunshot. i'm glad she is appealing. so she can rot in prison.

Shaniquah go back to Africa. How ignorant can you be. I am from Brownsville and if you paid attention to the show the Mexican people do speak English there. I believe that Traci is innocent and if she was guilty they would have easily proven that. There is no mention of gunshot residue on her hands or clothing. Has anyone thought that maybe Scott killed himself and tried to make it look like his wife murdered him. Even if she took precautions to prvent GSR her clothing no doubt would have contained microscopic fragments of that residue.

I watched the show and was sickened by the lack of evidence, detective work, verdict, reporting. Not convinced he or she fired shot. Police disturbed the crime scene, too busy trying to save a life. Gun could have easily been tossed in bloodbath on bed. No blood on holster. Angle of bullet entry, way Scott was sleeping not mentioned. No evidence whatsoever linking prosecution's claim she shot him. Producers botched story, did not ask hard questions. Forensic expert provided no insight into why he was so convinced she did it...gunpowder residue, fingerprint tampering, etc. If defense lawyer was smarter, he would have put "Scott's personality" on trial, also how Scott could have committed suicide. CBS over-edited the piece, more interested in faithless wife angle than jealous husband. Tough case for jury. Retrial a must, for justice.

Tracy,
I hope you are reading this andI also hope there is something I can do to help. Last year my husband went through a horrific episode that ultimately led to me going on FMLA and then leaving my job. My husband became paranoid at anything I did, seriously believed that I put programs into our computer to trace his activities, encrypted files, transferred data via my ipod, etc, etc, etc. I couldn't touch a computer, telephone or do anything without hours of grueling questions on why I did this or that, or why a certain program was running on a machine. Since I traveled extensively when this first started, I didn't pick up on it at first. But my traveling left holes in my times that he filled with amazingly connected events that painted a story I couldn't answer to. It was a nightmare. He was seeing a psychiatrist for ADD, so I called his Doctor to see if this could be a side affect of his medication or even if I was going insane and couldn't remember any of this. His doctor changed his meds, but also started him on a new one used for schzephrenia. The point is that he could put completely disparete events together to make a plausable question of my actions when they were absolutely not related at all! Maybe my testimony and our psychiatrists would help you.
I can say that at the time, going to jail would have seemed a relief to get away from the situation. I kept strong through God and the reminder of "in sickness and in health."

this chick is going to burn in hell regardless, it shows you how screwed up the texas judicial system is. this makes you wonder if all texans are completely retarted, all the people on the jury are pathetic. lets let a murderer go because her kids are gonna be sad because she is going to have to go to jail!

What the story didn't tell you is that the bullet trajectory was consistent with someone standing above Scott and shooting him.

It WAS NOT CONSISTENT with a suicide.
