I heard about this, thru the grapevine of course, and wasn't shocked at all! There are so many under cover things goin on at that school and they need to b stopped! Mr. king is getting rid of certified teachers and hiring his UNCERTIFIED family! Ms. Bond is no better. I bet you didn't know this either....the students who are supposed "gang members" have received AT LEAST two pizza parties and a field trip! Our teachers, however, received an ice cream bar for teacher appreciation. What is wrong with this picture?!?!

The "gang members" get more stuff at haywood then the other students. Mrs Bond dont don anything but pat them on the back and send them to class. They think they are that hard and want to fight at school next time the need to just call the cops.

My son attends HHS and is very upset. I agree with him totally on the following. In the plans for next school year they have been told that the 6 minute time to get from 1 class room to another will now only be 5 minutes, NO BREAKS EXCEPT FOR LUNCH, and this past year the principal would not let kids even go outside for fresh air during breaks or lunch. This is rediculous!!! I don't know about everyone else but I need breaks during the day. EVEN PRISSONERS ARE TREATED BETTER THAN THIS!! And with overcrowded schools like HHS it would take me longer to get from one end of the school to the other. I suppose when you CAN'T CONTROL THE TROUBLED KIDS YOU WANT TO MAKE IT HARDER ON ALL KIDS!!! Parents, we need to stick together and attend the PTA AND SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS--Lets try to ban together and stop this once and for all. MAKE THE ONE'S IN CHARGE START EARNING THEIR PAYCHECKS, AND THE KID'S THAT DON'T WANT TO BE AT SCHOOL ANYWAY, SEND THEM TO A LITTLE ROOM SOMEWHERE OUT OF THE WAY AND MAKE THEM STAY IN IT ALL DAY WITH NOT BREAKS!

yes, understand completely!!! listen to this one.
Going to the locker to get your books out of the locker when the afternoon bell rings. A student comes up, puts his hands in your pocket, takes out your belongings, and leaves. You are told you can't take up for yourself, you must go to the office and tell. So, you go to the office and tell. Well, you are told we get get someone to look in on this the next morning. Well, I don't know about much, but I do know that if this student is allowed to leave the school with your property, you probably will not ever see it again. This gets even better, when the parent walks in, THEY REFUSE TO CALL THE POLICE, OR FIND THE STUDENT. If the parent wants to do something, then the parent can go to the police department and file a report. Are you all following me now. The next day, the student does not have the property on them, really, can you believe it. THIS IS WHAT WE AS PARENTS NEED TO DEMAND!!! RIGHTS FOR OUR KIDS!!! What would you as an adult have done had this happened to you, at work, in a parking lot, in a store. Would you have waited to call the police til the next day? I THINK NOT!

A teacher's life was threatened this past yr. She went to ms. bond and mr. king about it. The suspended him for like a week. Then he came back and told another teacher to tell the one he had threatened that he was gonna wait on her n the parking lot and kill her. When the other teacher went back to ms. bond, she told her she couldn't do anything more about it. So the teacher then contacted authorities and took care of it hetself. And guess what....the teacher didn't get rehired at the high school! She is a great teacher and has been there 15 yrs!

There has got to be something parents can do to get someone into the school SYSTEM that can actually take care to these situations. ALL I CAN SAY IS THEY MUST ALL BE RELATED!

They are all related thanks yo mr. king. He hired his sister's baby daddy who isn't even certified and fired a real teacher to make a spot for him. It's nuts! And in mr. king's contract it said he had to move to haywood county (which I think it great) and guess what....he hasn't amd has mo plans to!

If parents are concerned why don't they contact the Brownsville paper and comment on the crazy article they wrote about what a great job Ms. Bond was doing. Parents need to ban together and start knocking the doors down on the school board meetings, ask about how many teachers have left in the last two years due to the poor and often crazy leadership by Mr. King and Ms. Bond. They are doing things under the table and the education of these children is suffering. Not to mention that it's not a safe place for students or teachers. These trouble makers know they can do whatever they want and nothing will be done. How long do you think it will be before someone is seriously hurt, or killed. You can have a gun in your car if you claim it's not yours.

It does no good to talk to the board or any of the principals. Do what I did -- take your child out and enroll them in Gateway. My child is now able to use the bathroom when he wants to, and isn't threatened with brass knuckles or asked to buy drugs while in the bathroom.

Anyone that questioned Ms. Bond's authority did not get rehired. She is just like the Mr. King she will get rid of anyone that tells her she is an idiot with no clue of running a school.

The problems at the high school are way bigger than no breaks and shortened class change times. The school is out of control. The thugs and drug dealers are in control. Just spend a few minutes watching and listening. It is not hard to figure it out. We either get this situation under control or pay the price. This school will be on the state's list for takeover before long. Check EOC scores when they come out.

Contacting the paper will do no good. They will not report on anything derogatory at the school and this local paper is not the investigative reporting type. They are all about the fluff and feel good stories. Not necessarily a bad thing but just a "small town" thang!

The paper didn't mind reporting about Mr. Mitchell doing a bad job, which is a bunch of crap. He enforced rules and backed the teachers up with disipline issues, until the idiot Mr. King created a job for would over rule every action he tried to take. The situation at that school is Mr. Kings making. He has truly ruined it for the good students and teachers. Thugs and rejects are free to do whatever.

Disgusted you are so right but again it was to make this current administration look good. Mr. Mitchell is out of there b/c of Mr. King and the infamous Dr. Love forcing him out so they don't mind putting him down.

It is so wrong that this admistration is running off wonderful educators that truly care about the students. The test scores are going to reflect the problems, a child can't learn if there is no dicipline in the school.

Disgusted I agree. Just wait till the most recent scores come out. Those are the true indicators of how well a school is doing.

What about HHS new football coach???
Is this a joke does he believe in God or satan? The word is he
told the football players they couldn't pray or attend church on wednesday nights. I would like to know. I don't want my son to play for a coach who doesn't believe in God.

I'm totally disgusted with the NEGATIVE comments I've read in regards to Mr. King and others. When Mr. Chapman was the Superintendent, no one bothered to say anything and he did nothing to progress the schools of Haywood County. Now that there is a young African American male trying to lead and move the schools of Haywood County to the top, there are complaints and accusations. You all kill me with this nonsense. All of this talk is only because he's an African American point blank. If he were white and did what everyone wanted him to do, no one would say a thing. If you were Superintendent, you would hire who you wanted too, whether they were family, friends, friends of friends, etc. If you don't like the direction the schools are going in, then why don't you take your children out and send them to private school. It amazes me that after all these years, Brownsville is STILL one of the most racist and prejudice towns.
