with all the trouble in parks and rec the board of consevation decided to let the director write her own hand book. when the book was forced on the employees that turned her in for wrong doing, the employees questioned the book. The Chief of Police, who is on the board got mad and called the employees childish and said they need to grow up. He stomped out of the meeting and went out side and pouted. Keep in mind there were several meeting on the directors wrong doing of which he only attended a few and left early. This man is supposed to investigate wrong doings and find out if something is wrong, instead he pitches fits and does not do his job. Just so he will know, I saw him ouside that night at the parks and rec. building. you can bet that therre is a lot more wrong here that what people know

i agree with you on that one. i have seen alot since i have been doing community service work with a park and rec employee and i have heard alot. to me something needs to be done about this, but it is going to take alot for somebody to actually do something about it.

Unbelievable ,I grew up with chris he is one of the best people I know, the people on here that dog him are probably doing something they want to hide and have no respect for law enforcement. He is a man like everyone else and will always stand up for what's right sometimes u got to step out of that position your I'n forget politics and stand up for the things that are right. Chris is the person that politics are not he will speak his mind on what is right and that's the kind of people we need I'n this town. I SAY CHRIS LEA FOR COUNTY MAYOR!!!
Thats sad

You OBVIOUSLY are blind to what goes on within the City of Brownsville! You say he stands up for what is right .......then u need to speak to some of the officers here who know for a fact Chris is nothing BUT POLITICS to get him where he wants and what he wants! He is in NO WAY a man of his word!

Hardly the case. Seems you know Chris in a different light than anyone who works with him. I can tell you from experience he is not a man of his word. Not disgruntled at all i love my job here just not in the group who plays politics. I do my job and let my work reflect who i am not worry about whos butt to kiss to get somewhere. But thanks for your opinion although you have no idea what goes on in his department!

Ur key words" not I'n the group" I make it a point at work to be I'n the group. It makes your job so much better.I hear other employes complaing and they are the ones that don't go that x-tra mile, or had a friend fired, don't care about one thing and that's what time they get off work instead of what they can do at work. I Smell low self esteem and attitudes like this brings down the morale of everybody around u which then spreads to the whole dept. Walk a mile I'n the bosses shoes before u start puttin him down. There's politics I'n every job from garbage man to mayor don't be mad cause some people are just better at it than you. Hey I'm not the best at it either but I don't hold it against the ones that have the knack for it. Believe it or not politics got YOU ur job and with these type comments POLITICS can take it away.

Ah sorry politics did not get me my job! My education and experience got me my job! As far as playing with the "in" crowd they are usually the ones who get left in the shadows! Im very happy with the person i am, the parent i am, and the spouse i am so no im sorry dear so far your guestimates are exactly that......guesses to try to justify the obvious to make your"friend" seem the person he isnt! As a matter of fact come work this job for one week and put up with what we do and i quarantee you will change your thoughts! Enuff said! Good day!

there is a lot more to this than you people know. Chris was lead by carlon flagg and chris did not check out anthing and just took her word. He is supposed to be the head cop and know how to determine things on his own. I used to think a lot of chris, but not any more. I thought he was a fair man, know I know better. By the way, I will not comment on him any more because he is not worth my time.

I'm gonna make this short. Chief Chris Lea has been the best thing to happen to the police department in a long time. The morale is up and he not only cares about the officers, he listens to us as well. Our department has come a long way in the short time he has been here. If you really are a employee here at the department and your not happy, then leave. If your not, then do not speak for us, I haven't heard one Brownsville police officer complain about him, at least not the ones still working here.

Finally a comment from an officer, thanks for confirming what I've been trying to say. You just can't find a better guy it's just he sometimes has to make the hard calls and they aren't gonna be popular with everybody. THANKS CHRIS FOR YOUR HARD WORK!!!!!

As far as Chris being "In Charge" and "The best thing to happen to the Police Department in a long time", think about this: The President of the United States is the "Man in Charge". However, in reality, Congress runs the Country.

some of you need to get to the root of the problem in Bville----the attitude thats how we always done it has not worked, will never work. But someone has to do the job or else we fall into a cycle of doing as we dam please---which doesnt work either.
If you live on borrowed money all the time, someday someone is gonns call in your marker---then what do you do-----look around folks----neither the county nor the city can support itself financially, thus the tax increases, high unemployment high foreclosures etc
