This picture was taken on Railroad/Main Street,
where it intersects with the foot of Pittburgh
Street hill in West Bronsville.
The Red Cross Motor Corps are standing in front
of the bakery, where my Dad worked in High
Joe Holpit used to drive the bakery truck,
Can anyone identify who's in the photo ?

I can't be sure, but the hairdo and the stance makes me think it is Miss Jean Donahey, second from the right in the front row. She was the type of person to be imvolved in such as this.
I rmemeber Joe who drove the bakery truck. I think the bread was "Town Talk" My dad and I went straight to the bakery a few times when we ran out of bread over the weekend and filled the car with loaves.....still warm and the interior of that 1941 Chevy smelled heavenly.
Joe came to my dad's funeral, on April 10, 1979.

Miss Donahey was a teacher from the West side and
her Father was on the school board.
Maybe Grace Alexander can tell us where they
lived circa the 1940 's. The Brownsville Area
Elementary School (Cox-Donahey) is named for them.
Since Tom Stapleton mostlikely posted this photo,
maybe Pat Coppinger can help identify some others
in this picture ?

I went to the bakery each evening. My family liked to have tomorrows bread tonight. The rye bread was the best ever made.
