Bet this borough is so glad of the descriptor used: rundown. Makes it a tourist stop for sure.

Your absolutely right.. real thrilled about the "RUNDOWN" comment.
The sad truth is Brownsville & West Brownsville are both rich in History..Problem is it's History!
Plenty of places to see such as Nemacolin Castle in Brownsville & The Flat Iron Bldg. The Monongahela River which flows south to north rather than north to south!!
West Brownsville & Brownsville are also both Rich in History from the Whiskey Rebellion. Unfortunately, both boro's are very poor in managing & policing the area's. So sad..

How sad it is to see Brownsville the way it is now. I was born, raised, graduated from school, got married, had a child there. It was a great place to grow up and start a family of my own.
Can't someone do something to revive this town? What happened to the talk of a casino coming to town?
Dad died 5 yrs ago and I brought mother to live with me in Ohio. My husband, child, and I had to leave yrs. ago as there was no work. I haven't been back for several yrs. I know when I do come back it will be a terrible thing to see.
