My husband Peter Boucot is running for county commissioner against Roger Nyquist.
Pete does not think that purchasing this property was in the best interest for Linn County for the following reasons:
--used road funds and paid too much in a rushed 90 day decison.
--preliminary research on the property was not done before the purchase--wetland study, traffic study, taxpayer input, law enforcement needs, ongoing costs to the county for security, water, electricity, upkeep, etc.
--use for property has jumped around as more information has been gained on permitted land use.
--county must get exceptions from the state on goals 3,4, and 11 (septic, roads, permanent structure and on and on.
RV park.....in this day of $4 gas, how many people are RV-ing???This was a BAD decision that will cost the taxpayers not bring in revenue for the county.
