My father, Art Burke, played the mayor in Stand By Me. He lived in Albany. He had a grand time participating in that film and especially enjoyed meeting Rob Reiner. He had great things to say about him. Unfortunately, Dad passed away in March of 2007. He would have enjoyed participating in your event. He was featured in the pie eating contest scene.
