My GUESS is that you need to check out one of the nearby Amish communities.......probably old order. Best wishes. Oh, BTW..........you could get your answer if you contact any Amish or Mennonite general store in the region. Best wishes.
There are "herbal" doctors everywhere. Depends on the "herbs" you want. Amish people usually have lots of "herbs" if you know what I mean.

I know someone with your condition. I was almost diagnosed with it as well before I was diagnosed with chronic bladder pain. You know what my doctor told me was good for fibromyalgia? Pot. And I'm not joking. He was a doctor that moved here from Mexico and although he couldn't legally prescribe it..he was definately a fan of it's use for the condition.

Just letting you know. It's ok if you don't want to try it though.

That's pretty funny. I'm guessing he was from Tiwanna.lol. Well I'm not into killing any brain cells or doing any illegal or illicit drugs. One of the main problems I have is fatigue. I'm guessing I don't need a substance that makes you wanna sit around and eat. I need Energy. I'm not even a drinker. I do see where it probably would decrease the pain but I'm guessing Cocaine, heroin,& meth would also do that. Thanks but No thanks. BTW did he prescribe you Tequilla as well.lol.

It doesn't kill brain cells. They established this a few years ago. It's been scientifically proven. It just causes your brain to store information in an area that it normally doesn't store information. That's why when you learn something while you are stoned it's easier to remember it if you are also stoned.

I can understand not wanting to do anything illegal. I don't know where he was from but he was a really nice doctor.

Why don't you just take regular prescription drugs. I take them to sleep, then wake up, then eat, then not eat, to be happy, to feel good, to do just about everything. It's really great. I think that is what you all need. Forget the iridology and all the other quackery.

Hi RX!!!!!! Depending of the nature of the problem, prescription meds don't always work. Some of the autoimmune disorders such as Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Lupus are very had to treat and respond better to non-traditional methods.

I was surprised, years ago, when a neuro psychologist suggested that I try pot for my chronic pain. Hello??? I didn't care for the stuff "back in the day" and I certainly am not going to break my pain contract with the MD on the off chance that it might increase my comfort level.

Why were you suprised when a doctor suggested trying pot? It has a LOT of medical uses. It's great for pain management. There's no overdose risk, there's no addiction risk, and we pretty much know what is in it. We have no idea what is in the medicine we get from drug companies. Just because the FDA approves medicines doesn't mean they are safe. I don't trust the government.

As for being sure I'm on a check because I recommeded pot for a woman with chronic pain...do you know how stupid that is? A lot of people who lead perfectly normal and healthy lives smoke pot. A lot of people who help keep the economy going use all kinds of drugs. I know a couple lawyers who use cocaine on a regular basis. And actually my dentist told me a couple stories about how he and his old college buddies used to inhale nitrous oxide all throughout dental school.

I also dated a man who was a physicians assistant for the Army and he was always hooking up his friends with liquid morphine. Don't just "assume" that because someone doesn't look like a junkie that they don't partake in drugs or alcohol. You pass people ALL the time on the street and at work that do some really crazy things.

Anyway...there's no sense in someone being in pain if they can obtain drugs at a reasonable cost and that are safe to use. Just because the government says it's illegal doesn't mean they should suffer. A lot of people don't have insurance so I don't look down on anyone for self medicating.

I have been a chronic/intractable pain patient for a very long time. I certainly don't look down on anyone who self medicates when they are getting no relief..........but in many cases it is not safe.

As for the pot, I have a contract with my pain doc that states that he will write all of my pain scripts and I will get all scripts filled at one pharmacy. I have contracted not to consume alcohol, pot or any street drugs. I am subject to random drug screening to demonstrate that I am honoring my contract. I can count on one hand the number of times I have been screened in the last six years but it COULD happen at any appointment. Any violation of the contract would result in being dropped as a patient and I would be black listed. It's a crazy world.

Yeah people who have to take random screenings shouldn't do that at all. Especially if you are depending on your job to support a family or in your case you have a contract. I hope the meds that you have been prescribed are working out for you. I only mentioned the use of pot because it is so much cheaper and it's a good alternative for those who are without medical insurance. I think it's sad we live in a society that puts a price on health. And because of that people are forced to suffer.

I have been interacting with other chronic pain patients on the internet for years and it is helpful to many with certain types of pain. Pot can also aggravate other types of pain. Go figure!!!! I like the way the Chinese handle health care. The doctor does not get paid until the patient is well or the condition is under control.

Please look up the communtiy before you go ... They have five convicted child molesters where he pratices. Also he tells everyone the same thing. Why do you think they charge taxes on the medicine you buy? Why should you have to sign a wavor before he treats you ?
They dont pay them so why do they charge them? Also alot of their stuff has chemicals that are used to dye clothes in them.
Their gardens are fertilized by their human waste/
To find out more go to amish legal affairs and look for them you will find plenty and yes it is that group....

I just emailed you the address and then you can mapquest it from your exact location.
For anyone else who would like the address here it is:
Vernon Community
V.C. Christian Charity

Hestand, Ky 42151
I am looking at a business card from there and here are the hours. I am not sure if these are accurate still. Not sure how old this card is.
Monday, Tuesday, Friday 7:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Wednesday and Thursday and Sunday CLOSED
Saturday 7:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m.
We have visited Reuben on Thanksgiving before because they don't celebrate it. I am not sure if he is still open that day or not. That is one of the best times to go because there was never many people there.
Maybe you should do some checking before you decide to refer him to everyone. They have five convincted child molesters in his group. Just search amish legal affairs. The group you are talking about fertilizies their gardens with human waste. You may love them put I will not be doing business with anyone who conceals child rapist , and yes they practice a policy of incest , where the girls dont always have a choice. He tells everyone the same thing and no , no child, recieves the money donated for medicines and other things, they make 70,000. a month and they pocket it.

They dont mind using our phones, vehicles, roads and all of our things everyday, they dont want them though , they just want to use ours, hey have a little respect for us as well. If you dont believe in it , then dont use other peoples... Maybe it is just a way to get out of paying taxes?[/

There are some eye doctors that say pot helps Glaucoma and helps relieve the pressure that is behind the eye. No doctor has told me this, I am repeating what I have heard from others. I guess,(however) that any excuse will do? ha

I hope you realize that you might be ask to have proof of what your saying. Do you know the child? Do you know for a fact that this happened?

As for using our roads etc; they put a lot of money back into the community in which they live by buying from the public food stores, feed and grain etc;. The Mennonites also build houses for the public. As for Rubin and his family, I think you are well off the line of truth because I think they are God fearing people who are doing what they can to make a living for their family. Don't we all do that? Perhaps the fact they are so close to God is scary to you. But I think you need NOT post false information, it could get you into a lot of trouble.

The incident rate of sexual deviation amoung the old order Amish and Mennonite is no higher than any other group. It should be noted that most of the KY settlements came as a result of church splits in Lancaster PA. One of the practices that they wanted to get away from and do not tollerae around here is bed courtship. I am a midwife and delivered a lot of babies in this area while I was active. In that capacity, I was privy to what was going on in the various settlements. Deviation was not a probem. I would not hesitate to do business with anyone in that community.

AS for being close to God , I hope to be as close as i can get someday. Why do they say or God is different from theirs. I thought we only had one. I am just saying you shouldnt percive him as a answers to your cures. He is not God and alot of people have been diagnosed wrong and even died, by medicine they have been placed on and condition he has said they have. Iknow some of these victims , and I think all child molesters should be hung up to dry , not just amish. For the mennoites , I have no problem they have vehicle and pay taxes on their stuff. I am just saying if your going to use these things , pay like the rest of us. I am not being mean , but just check the website for Kentucky sex offenders , and alot are not on this one. I know for a fact they let the boys have bed offerings, and let the boys run all night long, and yes many have been got stealing , peeping and perditaor many neighbors who are not amish. I dont think this is right , if it was normal teenagers, they would be prosecuted . They do help the communtiy some by buying goods, but just ask some people how much they take>>>>

For the reoord, the Amish and Mennonites come in all degrees of conservative lifestyle. I have Amish friends who work in the community and dress modestly but not in a manner that draws attention. I have also lived in the same community with the Old Order Mennonites who were strictly horse and buggy, had no electricity and only had a phone in the barn or workshop so they could conduct business more effectively. There were no phones in the house.

It is totally unfair to project deviant behaviors on all of the plain people due to a problem that was uncovered in one of them. Again, the incident rate amoung the plain people is no higher than the English. Let's be fair.

I am fair, and I do agree there is good people in all areas, but as I stated their is also bad, and the bad need to be punished the same . Protect the small children , maybe the ones that you talk of are the real thing, but trust me , their is more than one ... Just research it further. Am I bad because I hate known child abusers......?
