By far the absolute nicest contracter I met while trying to decide was Floyd Hawks. He is very busy and I could not wait..but he thoroughly impressed me as a person. I would recommend Tommy Stewart to anyone also..solid work, reasonable price and finished the job before schedule..

Starnes by far can beat any of the guys. He does the best work however you want it done... Don is a hard working honest man and we have also dealt with him alot!

Depends on where you are located in the county. Starnes and Tommy Stewart both stay pretty busy in the Brownsville area and there are builders on the north side of the county (around the lake) but they usually have a lot of work and don't take "outside" jobs. They are mostly custom and vacation homes in that area. Roger Brooks however is around and he does a great job especially if your looking for rustic appeal.

Based on the houses i have seen hes your basic builder. Turn key will give you a good job with nice things....the problem with turn key is who knows how much he saves buying stuff in advance etc and pockets the extra money? His building may be great but his work ethic is pitiful. An insurance chaser. Loves to "stick it to them". Thanks for doing that so we can pay higher premiums.

you need to go and talk to people who have news homes built around here so you can see how satisfied they are in person......

Don Starnes built my home and I am very unsatisfied with the quality of the products used in my home...but like I said, it would be better if you talked to people in person. It also ending us costing way more than I was told....He workers are wonderful people, but that is not the point.

I completely agree...same thing...Mr Hawks even gave me a rough estimate so I would know what things should cost..even though I could not wait. I was a woman doing this alone...Tommy Stewart was fantastic and everyone comments on how solid and nice my home is. Three years later..not one issue with the construction.
