2 die in head-on collision in Todd County

LONG PRAIRIE - Two people were killed in a head-on collision early today on U.S. Highway 71 in Todd County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

This is so sad. Jake was participating as a Counselor in training at Many Point Boy Scout Camp in Ponsdford, MN. I assume he was heading back to camp for the week. My son is also a C.I.T. at Many Point and found out about the crash yesterday. He was very upset.

Tod Walther was a good friend of mine. I knew him since he got married 22 years ago. He was a really great guy with quite a sense of humor. Sounds like fate brought these two together in the worst possible way. My condolences to the Hughes family for this tragic loss.
