Cab Driver Shot, Robbed; Drives Self To Hospital

A cab driver was robbed and shot early Monday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Only those who have done this job really understand how dangerous it can be.
And with the lease fees and fuel costs, I dont know how some of these people make it. Sixteen hour days to pay lease, fuel and maybe put fifty or sixty in your pocket. Not worth it. Been there, done that, and got the tee shirt.

It's a wonder he didn't get a ticket for speeding. Remember the recent case of the pregnant lady in distress who was stopped and ticketed while en route to the ER? Wow!

I am greatful to all who prayed for me, i was shot five time at roosevelt gardens apt and drove my self to SHANDS i new i will die. but i made it.
i don't drive cab no more but i wish every cab drive good luck and stay away from bad neibourhoods in jax take it from me.

good to hear you made it! the bad part is when cabbies, pizza deliveries, etc etc stop going into these neighborhoods all together someone will sue...i was told it happened in another state...a pizza company was sued for civil rights violations because they refused to deliver to a high crime area..only in america! anyway...congrats on making it and good luck in the future!

thanks you is a great citizen, i made it i am a living testimony now. a lot of people gets to listen when i speak about the dangers out there on the streets of america. its not gonna happen to me again cos i got something for anyfool who come up to me suspiciously. am not gonna get shot no more and for every had working citizen, i am not trying to encourage murder but please get u some legal protection of anykind so you won't be a victim of any lazy fool.

You're fortunate this happened now. Reid and Pelosi hid a provision in obama's forced healthcare bill that only allows coverage for people that are hurt while they are actually within the parking lot of a hospitial.
