Attended the Broussard Ciy Council meeting where request was made for the city to pay for infrastructure changes for the charter school.
Upon one of the councilmen asking the charter school rep whether or not the charter had even purchased their land, the answer was no! How can they ask for $350,000 to improve land they do not own!
The city is being taken for a ride here! Is this what you call beng good stewards of our taxpayer money? National Heritage Academies is a "for profit" organization people, not a non-profit. They have plenty of money, let them pay or their own property and infrastructure! Check the newspaper, the first year of operation of their charter in Btr. they
got a grade of F.

CHARTER SCHOOLS .... The biggest joke there is. It will ruin the states Educational system. The companies that run Charters want to make a profit, so they will hire low paying inexperienced teachers. And use a curriculum that will support higher grades and look great. But the reality is that unless you get in, you wont be a priority in La. Common Core is ruining our Educational system thus making Charters look good. Lets fix Public Education then there would be no need for Charter Schools...aka "schools for profit".
